Robinhood's Customer Experience team is committed to providing an outstanding customer experience. In your role as a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for proactively uncovering, cultivating, and converting high net worth and active customers onto the Robinhood platform. In particular, your work will focus on utilizing leads from various sources to develop new business opportunities, foster new customer relationships, and establish a robust pipeline of customers converting to our platform. Your role is focused on proactively engaging prospects and current customers to understand their situation and share how Robinhood can play a role in their financial journey. You will identify opportunities to win additional business through understanding needs and explaining the benefits of various solutions. You will help us learn as a company from each interaction, so that we can make our new customer's experience, using our products, as seamless as possible.

As a Business Development Specialist, you'll be the company's brand ambassador and proactive consultative voice and will use exceptional empathy and product expertise to ensure prospects feel understood and valued. Your mission will be to identify prospect potential efficiently and effectively, while seamlessly handing them off to partners to ensure a world class experience is provided.

What you’ll do

  • Proactive Outreach: Leverage leads from diverse sources to consult, uncover, and cultivate new business opportunities, establish meaningful customer relationships, and build a robust pipeline of potential customers transitioning to Robinhood.
  • Customer Engagement: Actively engage prospects and current Robinhood customers to understand their financial goals and challenges, effectively communicating how Robinhood can support their journey.
  • Solution Matching Through Consultation: Identify moments to grow the business by assessing investor needs and presenting solutions, showcasing the benefits and breadth of Robinhood’s offerings.
  • Deep Understanding of Needs: Skilled in active listening, addressing customer concerns, and effectively communicating value propositions in a balanced manner, to turn customer needs into opportunities. Ability to think on your feet, adapt to different customer situations, and maintain a positive and supportive approach
  • Knowledge Sharing: Provide valuable feedback from interactions to improve the onboarding process and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new users.
  • Seamless Handoff: Efficiently qualify prospects and transition them to appropriate internal partners to maintain a world-class customer experience.
  • Safety First: Understand internal policies and industry regulations to ensure Reg BI compliance, refrain from providing investment recommendations, and avoid solicitations of transactions.

What you bring

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 Licenses
  • Series 3 and Series 66 within 120 days of hire
  • 4+ years experience in a proactive environment focused on relationship growth and acquisition.
  • Exceptional empathy and active listening skills to connect with prospects and understand their needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills to create lasting, positive impressions.
  • A keen ability to identify opportunities, qualify leads, and drive conversions.
  • Working knowledge of Robinhood products and services, including Gold, Legend, Futures and beyond.
  • A customer-first mindset with a passion for helping individuals achieve their financial goals.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and contributing insights to improve processes and enhance the customer journey.
  • Series 3 and 66 preferred

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan.
