Robinhood is looking for an Operations Lead to help build out the Operations and Clearing aspects of our business in Singapore. We are looking for an experienced Operations professional with experience in securities and brokerage operations, as well as margin risk related topics and who is excited to work at the intersection of brokerage, technology, and finance.

This role will be responsible for establishing and scaling clearing and settlement operations for Robinhood Singapore, while adhering to compliance and risk management practices.

What you’ll do

  • Support the launch, improvement, and scaling of Robinhood Singapore’s clearing and settlement operations.
  • Be the point of contact and oversee day-to-day supervision of the brokerage operations and 1st line risk activities for the Singapore team.
  • Oversee and monitor the performance of clearing and settlement business partners within the group in line with intercompany agreements and SLAs.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining operational SOPs and processes for clearing and settlement.
  • Identify operational risks in clearing and settlement, participate in risk assessments, and create mitigating controls with the relevant US and Singapore product, compliance, and operational colleagues, including margin/risk.
  • Continuous process efficiency improvement by identifying & managing initiatives to improve processes and reduce operational risk, particularly in settlement and margin management.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, high ethical standards, personal development, and regulatory compliance in clearing, settlement, and margin practices, and promoting the core values and risk culture.
  • Help drive OKRs related to clearing, settlement, and risk management.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and industry best practices for brokerage operations, with a focus on clearing, settlement, and margin requirements for brokerages in Singapore and the US.
  • Partner with the MLRO, CCO and Risk & Compliance team (2nd line) to help review, implement and operate the required frameworks and controls to support regulatory requirements.

What you bring

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the securities industry, including clearing & settlements, reconciliation, regulatory reporting, and client margin control.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong knowledge of MAS and/or FINRA requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage clearing and settlement processes, including brokerage ops accounting, cash and securities management/delivery, and preferably including option exercise/assignment.
  • Command deep knowledge of clearing and settlement processes and standards, including margin and risk management.
  • Experience working across large projects with multiple work streams and coordinating cross functional teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in applying data analysis to solve business problems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Only Singaporean citizens or permanent residents
