As a VFX Artist III on the Teamfight Tactics Team, you will support a variety of projects on our R&D team, as we create new systems and assets that will both surprise and delight players.
You will work closely with the team’s Delivery Manager, Designers, Engineers, other discipline artists and the Art Lead to stay aligned on vision and priorities. Work days will vary from a wide range of products; from Environment VFX, adapting existing assets for new gameplay mechanics, updating classic content, to working on innovative effects for future Teamfight Tactics features.
As part of the VFX craft discipline, you’ll help design and implement special effects that enrich the atmosphere and depth of the game. With your artistic and technical expertise, you’ll create visually stunning effects that also communicate vital game information. Your skills in asset conversion and system setup will allow you to reimagine existing elements and create fresh visual experiences that resonate with players.

- Collaborate with designers to create engaging gameplay visuals
- Update and adapt iconic effects from existing game assets into Teamfight Tactics
- Lead the visual development of VFX from concept to in-engine implementation
- Balance visual appeal and gameplay clarity, ensuring that effects accurately represent their intended gameplay action or state
- Solve complex production challenges and assist in guiding decisions around clarity and implementation to support product and design needs
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience creating real-time stylized VFX in games
- Skills in 3D/2D Software - Unreal, Maya, 3DS Max, Photoshop
- Proven ability to create high-quality, stylized real-time VFX
- Comprehensive understanding of the game development pipeline, including optimization and implementation
Desired Qualifications:
- Development experience creating VFX, materials, and PBR assets within modern game engines (Unreal’s Niagara, Cascade, etc)
- Familiarity with League of Legends / Teamfight Tactics IP and style
- Experience in providing direction and constructive feedback to vendors
