Riot Film/TV is looking for a Senior Creative Producer, Film/TV, Animation who seeks to push the limits of the animation medium and up the bar of animated storytelling.

The Senior Creative Producer is responsible for shepherding the creative for animated theatrical feature films and premium series content that results in Riot Games’ upcoming slate, through the development and production phases. As such, the Senior Creative Producer partners with directors, filmmakers and showrunners to articulate and develop their film & series ideas into multi-million dollar features and series productions. Duties include being subject matter experts on storytelling and story structure; building and editing story and pitch presentations that lead to major creative milestones; conducting and managing inspirational research for feature films’ and series’ worlds & characters; in partnership with the Story team, being responsible for on-going, in-depth searches for writers and directors to match the sensibility of the projects, filmmakers, and the filmmaker-driven, collaborative culture of Riot Games; shepherd the creative for the entirety of the production process, effectively collaborating with the production team to deliver world-class titles. The SCP reports to the Global Head of Animation Development, Film/TV in a highly team-oriented environment.

  • Partners with filmmakers to drive and execute the creative vision of Film/TV titles from inception to delivery
  • Supports and participates in developing the creative strategy on feature films, long-form series and short projects, and provides subject matter expertise to filmmakers to assist and influence the shaping of stories from concept through delivery, with an emphasis on character & structure, that results in multi-million-dollar film and series releases.
  • Day-to-day management of the creative development and production of assigned projects as well as support of the overall Film/TV animation slate which includes:
    • Maintaining solid relationships within studio and with external filmmaking community
    • Promoting a culture of creative collaboration and facilitating peer feedback throughout the filmmaking process
    • Championing diversity and inclusion in all areas of the development process & department
    • Supporting the strategic priorities of the studio leadership team, particularly in the pursuit of excellence, mentorship, diversity & inclusion, and studio engagement
    • Supporting the Global Head of Animation in the growth and mentorship of the creative producers
  • Partners with Global Head of Animation & Associate Producer to identify and adapt project milestones, and monitor creative progress for Riot development and production slate of feature films, long-form series and shorts
  • Facilitates & provides creative feedback in pitches, story & notes sessions, screenings, edit and music/sound/mix sessions throughout development and during production
  • Responsible for writer, director and showrunner talent sourcing & matching.
  • Collaborate on the development of the slate, including crafting filmmaker briefs, leading creative working sessions, analyzing story structure, managing script analysts as needed.
  • Responsible for the search and hiring of story & research consultants for multiple feature films, long-form series and shorts that are in development and/or active production.
  • Responsible for research initiatives, and integration of ongoing research that influences story development.
  • Collaborate on story development of various ancillary projects, such as short-form content, and various content exploration programs within the studio.
  • Become a trusted thought-partner to filmmakers and support the projects creatively throughout their lifespan, by reviewing visual development materials, storyboards, reels at various stages of development and production.
  • In coordination with the GHDP, provide input on talent deals and contracts in support of the Riot Legal and BA.
  • Collaborate with other Riot and game and product teams across the organization to create integrated entertainment experiences.
  • As part of the Film/TV team brain trust, provide development support & feedback on other Film & TV projects, regardless of the medium.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Excellent understanding of screenplay structure, character and script analysis
  • Deep knowledge of film/tv/theater and the entertainment industry, and strong interest in animation
  • Deep industry contacts with writers & creative talent as well as agents, managers and scouts
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with all levels of creative talent, executives and management, and with diverse personalities and work styles, is crucial
  • Demonstrable flexibility, professionalism, and finesse when handling the multiple and diverse demands of a fast-paced and dynamic creative environment
  • Strong time management, organizational & leadership skills
  • 3+ years of experience in managing a project or a team
  • 7+ years of experience in a relevant, comparable environment is required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Passion and understanding of the League of Legends universe and characters, and love for games in general
  • Proven experience in talent sourcing & matching
