The Systems Engineering Co-Op will help design, test and validate systems. Our goal is to develop your talents as an Engineer and enable you to make significant contributions to the Water Heating Systems Team in product design, team processes, and lab capabilities during your time at Rheem.
This position is in our Advanced Technology Integration department, located in Montgomery, Alabama. This is a Co-Op position for 1 - 2 semesters, working 40 hours per week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Test all aspects of product software - phone app, cloud integration, water heater functionality.
- Develop and extend automated tests for control electronics, software and web applications.
- Learn wire harness design and develop harnesses.
- Participate in new product development activities.
- Reliability investigation of water heater hardware and software
- Research communication protocols and how to apply these to Rheem products.
- Plan and execute parts of a product development project.
- Investigate field issues, determine root cause and propose solutions.
- Support 5S program implementation.
Qualifications:
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- Interest or experience in product design
- Some programming experience or interest in programming control devices or PCs
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles (electrical, electronics and programming)
- Ability to plan work tasks.
- Willingness to write reports/specifications and present your findings to the team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word)
