The primary focus of the Configuration Design Engineer (Designer) will be responsible for the design and maintenance (programming) of Oracle CTO (Configure to Order) configuration rules required to support the product bill of material creation. A secondary focus is to utilize CTO to support manufacturing, pricing, and selection with configured routings and selection criteria.

This position will serve our Raypak Division located in Oxnard CA.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Create and maintain new and existing product configuration rules with Oracle CTO in support of Raypak Water Heating products.
• Assist and ensure Designers and Design Engineers follow best practices in the creation of SolidWorks Configured Models.
• Responsible for writing rules, validations, user interface and publishing within Oracle configurator for configurator items
• Work closely with product management, engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure that new products are available at product launch
• Act as an Oracle functional module expert for configuration as part of an integrated business solution
• Assist in efforts to create and maintain modeling standards regarding Configured Product.
• Participate in system reengineering, in relation to product configuration and bills of material. Originate new ideas whenever possible for commercial or residential products.
• Understand the functionality of Oracle item attributes to ensure that they are correctly assigned to achieve expected behavior in all related Oracle modules.
• Ensure optimum configuration model design to satisfy "Assemble to Order" (ATO) and "Configure to Order" (CTO) business requirements
• Participate in efforts to optimize the selection process of commercial products
• Be familiar with all Engineering documents, drawings, and use them as a reference for product specifications. Make suggestions for improvement or corrections to Configurator whenever possible.
• Actively participate in the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process and ensure that agreed-upon implementation dates are met.
• Support implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of engineering software applications.
• Manage and facilitate the communication process among the various departments to ensure engineering changes are implemented with accurate BOM and ERP attributes.
• Supports and recommends further training of design team members on CAD, PLM, and Change Management software . • Assist in the implementation of changes in the BOM database and release to production via Engineering Change Notice (both paper and electronic versions).
• Assist with auditing BOM's for accuracy and completeness of data provided by engineering specifications.
• Assist in monitoring and updating the electronic engineering database and review drawing packages to ensure correct revision level of engineering specifications are released from R&D to other areas at time of ECN release.
Qualifications:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
• Broad experience across several Oracle modules and integration points
• Minimum of three years' experience within Oracle and CTO modeling expertise as well as system configuration knowledge in the VC module or other ERP System (i.e. SAP VC)
• Minimum of two years' experience with ERP Material Master, Classification, Bill of Material, and Engineering change Management systems
• Experience with sequel databases
• Involvement in configuration workgroups connected to Oracle or SAP is preferred.
• Ability to present project objectives, progress reporting, and facilitate review meetings with executive and senior audience while demonstrating strong business acumen
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as internal personal skills, familiarity with business practices and cultures across multiple international regions.

• Parasolid Modeling experience, SolidWorks a plus.
• Excellent group facilitation, communication, training and presentation skills
• Excellent people skills with ability to develop and maintain professional relationships is required
• Experience or knowledge of the HVAC Industry preferred
• Experience with ARAS PLM database preferred.

Payscale for this role based in California is: $58,088-$92,962 USD. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria".
