Job Description

This role is focused on driving growth, expansion, and renewals on behalf of Renaissance Learning. This is a senior Sales role reporting to the Vice President of Assessment and Analytics requiring extensive pedagogical knowledge and experience to craft enterprise-scale student achievement solutions for School Districts. The Superintendent in Residence will work alongside West Area team members within Sales and Customer Success from across Renaissance in pursuit of winning opportunities and reviewing current customers. The incumbent should have CA superintendent experience and be a thought leader in their discipline, facilitating credibility with Renaissance customers.

Essential Functions

  • Specific focus on achieving CA new business and Renewal targets
  • Partnering with sales teams to create new district opportunities
  • Conducting client discovery calls with sales representatives.
  • Meeting with clients to discuss their educational and pedagogical needs.
  • Strategizing with the sales team to create customized solutions.
  • Drafting and delivering presentations on targeted products.
  • Providing post-implementation follow-ups in concert with Renaissance Customer Success
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Monitor and anticipate market activity to support the positioning of Renaissance products with key customers
  • Monitor competitor activity to facilitate customer retention and acquisition
  • Partner with Marketing and Government Affairs colleagues to identify and prioritize funding sources and customer initiatives to inform Renaissance's Strategic Accounts go to market strategy


Qualifications

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive pedagogical experience and credibility in a given discipline
  • Significant experience working with educational stakeholders at all levels, and particularly with senior leaders of large, urban school districts
  • Strong knowledge of relevant state and federal legislation for the assigned territory
  • Ability to manage full-cycle opportunities using a CRM system and other sales technology
  • Impeccable communication skills, written and verbal; with demonstrated executive presence

Salary Range: The base range for this position is $85,000-102,000. This range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
