In partnership with public safety, RapidSOS has created the world's first intelligent safety platform that securely links life-saving data from 500M+ connected devices directly to 911 and first responders in an emergency. Through the platform, we're providing intelligent data that supports over 15,000+ 911 and first responder agencies across North America, protecting 95%+ of people in the US, across 165M+ emergencies annually.

What this role is about:

As the VP of Public Sector Sales, you will build and lead our Public Sector Sales Team and play a critical role in bringing our intelligent safety platform to life for emergency telecommunicators and first responders across North America. In this role, you will develop the sales strategy for our public sector unit, set and manage achievement towards sales targets, and develop scalable, streamlined sales processes to support local, state, and federal deals. You'll thrive in this role if you're resourceful, mission-driven, analytical, and a great team player. You'll work cross-functionally with members across the organization, including marketing, customer success, and product.

What you'll do:

  • Sales strategy:

    • Develop the sales strategy for two distinct product lines
    • Identify opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell to enhance return on investment of both products
    • Partner with strategic resellers to enhance sales motion
  • Go-to-market motion:

    • Improve sales processes to enhance sales velocity, while ensuring high customer satisfaction through implementation and go-live
    • Monitor sales motion and funnel to ensure sales reps are hitting quotas
    • Collaborate with marketing on sales enablement materials, growth marketing efforts, sales rep training, and event participation
    • Oversee indirect sales with resellers
  • Measurement & Reporting:

    • Report on sales motion; identify roadblocks and key learnings / improvement areas and implement improvements with urgency
    • Present on progress, learnings, and key opportunities to the Leadership Team and peers
  • Team building:

    • Hire exceptional talent to support sales motion at local, state, and federal levels
    • Coach sales reps to help them close deals; proactively identify development opportunities to ensure high performing sales team
    • Ensure team is working together effectively and seamlessly to close opportunities
    • Develop a culture of execution to enhance sales velocity
    • In partnership with the People Ops team, develop compensation plans for the sales team to ensure team is motivated and feels rewarded

What we're looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • Experience with public sector sales, primarily at the state and local level
  • Experience working in fast, agile environment, preferably at a startup environment
  • 5+ years building and managing high-performing sales teams; additional experience as a sales rep
  • Experience designing sales processes that increase velocity and deal volume
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to navigate complex external relationships
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different types of stakeholders
  • Passion for solving complex challenges in a fast-paced, low ego environment

Starting pay for a successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include experience, relevant skills, training, education, location, business needs, or market demands. The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $230,000. This role will also be eligible to receive equity options and bonus compensation. #LI-Remote
