What this role is about:

RapidSOS is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team reporting directly to our Controller. You will assist our Finance team with responsibilities including but not limited to: general ledger accounting in accordance with US GAAP, consolidation and financial reporting, technical accounting research, supporting our annual audit and tax compliance, improving our infrastructure to scale operations and preparing RapidSOS for an exciting future. We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, startup environment. The ideal candidate is resourceful, energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about saving lives!

What you'll do:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including month-end and year-end financial close activities and analysis, preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, and preparation of ongoing analytics to understand variances and explain trends/fluctuations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong accounting and related financial policies, processes, and control systems ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Identify opportunities to create operational and process efficiencies including documentation and working cross-functionally to create repeatable, consistent best practices that are scalable
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across RapidSOS teams to drive the revenue recognition process
  • Play a key role in consolidation of other subsidiaries, serving as the primary liaison for year-end audit in partnership with external auditors, and researching technical accounting and compliance issues
  • Own preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and support ad hoc accounting projects

What we're looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience with an ideal combination of public accounting in audit and private industry experience
  • CPA required
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with US GAAP revenue recognition practices (ASC 606), consolidation, and financial reporting
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • You are self-directed and enjoy solving difficult problems in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to evaluate complex transactions
  • Open to coming into office around 1x/month

Nice-to-have experience (but not required!):

  • Startup experience a plus
  • Big 4 experience a plus
  • Proficiency with NetSuite and Salesforce

Starting pay for a successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include experience, relevant skills, training, education, location, business needs, or market demands. The salary range for this role is $105,000 - $130,000. This role will also be eligible to receive equity options. #LI-Hybrid
