Summary:
Responsible for managing, analyzing, and optimizing the sales compensation processes. This role involves developing and maintaining compensation plans, ensuring accurate and timely payout of incentives, and providing analytical support to drive sales performance. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with sales, finance, accounting, and human resources teams.
Plan Administration
- Oversee the calculation and disbursement of incentive compensation payouts for employees.
- Collect and maintain accurate sales performance data to support incentive calculations and reporting.
- Manage the day-to-day administration of compensation programs, including tracking, processing, and responding to employee inquiries.
- Calculate and manage incentive accruals, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, company policies, and reporting requirements.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare and present detailed reports on incentive compensation plans, including performance vs. targets, payout calculations, and trends.
- Collaborate with various departments (Sales, Finance, HR, etc.) to ensure alignment and support for incentive compensation strategies.
- Utilize advanced Excel, databases, and analytics tools to provide insights into program effectiveness and areas for improvement.
- Maintain and ensure data integrity across incentive compensation systems.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the design and delivery of incentive compensation programs.
- Recommend best practices and implement process changes to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance employee satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in incentive compensation.
- Strong knowledge of compensation theory, market practices, and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency with CaptivateIQ or similar platforms, advanced Excel skills, and Tableau. Ability to work with large datasets and generate meaningful insights from data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Understanding of relevant laws, tax regulations, and compliance related to incentive compensation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Compensation (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional - CCP).
- Experience with incentive compensation design and administration in a sales or performance-driven environment.
- Knowledge of business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
