Job Summary:
Want to help Rakuten Rewards turn analytics into a competitive strength? This is an opportunity to work on an analytics and business intelligence discipline, focused on providing merchant level intelligence to our sales team. Your analysis and insights will fuel our sales team to efficiently acquire and retain our merchant partners, as well as helping identify new sales prospects that will drive consumer adoption with our platform. The role is client facing and candidates should be comfortable with interactions at senior levels of an organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recommend and execute strategies to demonstrate value to merchant participants
- Communicate with internal and external clients concerning their need for information, and where appropriate help to refine the requests for information
- Work with business stakeholders to design and drive experiments to test hypotheses
- Communicate performance trends and analyses to key partners across the organization
- Track daily business performance through the creation of standard and ad hoc reporting and analyses
- Build reporting systems and visualization using SQL, BI tools that help providing insights to business stakeholders
- Collect, analyze, and evaluate data to understand macro business trends and drive business strategy
- Help monitor the quality of the data that is being made available through the company's reporting tools
- Develop insights to identify areas of opportunity, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to take action
Qualifications:
- A great storyteller who can make complex data analyses accessible to any audience
- Client facing experience
- Experience extracting data from large data sets with SQL
- Experience working with BI tools like Tableau
- Experience with A/B testing
- Excited by working with data, measuring performance, and making decisions based on quantitative and/or deductive reasoning
- Self-starter, go-getter, adaptive to dynamic working environment
Minimum Requirements:
- 4+ years professional experience as a business analyst, preferably in retail or e-commerce industry
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering
- Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability and confidence to succinctly convey complex information to senior management
