Job Summary:

The Manager will be part of Rakuten Advertising's publisher team, growing partner relationships and collaborating with leading affiliate partners. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with both key decision-makers at publisher sites and their operational affiliate teams within your assigned portfolio.

In this role, you will gain experience managing and growing these partnerships by providing them network and platform support, encourage product adoption and advanced strategy ideas, and by acting as a key liaison in their advertiser and client relationships. You will collaborate with various internal groups to ensure expectations are exceeded. You will act as their advocate and help them navigate the partner landscape. You will also act as a project manager for key initiatives and projects, and will gain experience and strong understanding of our tools and product suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Publisher
    • Oversee deliverables to ensure partner satisfaction and their overall Rakuten experience.
    • Develop, maintain and extend relationships with your portfolio of publishers.
    • Provide strategic advice to increase their revenue stream and diversify their offering where applicable.
    • Negotiate and advocate on their behalf with advertisers/clients. Find synergies and encourage solutions that move their relationships forward.
    • Serve as liaison across all Rakuten support areas to ensure reporting, billing, legal, technical, product needs are addressed.
    • Project manage and improve any internal processes to help your partners grow. Provide implementation guidelines or collateral and help guide them through the processes.


  • Team
    • Manage a team of Publisher Managers and/or Sr. Publisher Managers who will support your portfolio. Act as a lead and inspiration for the overall publisher org.
    • Oversee frequent check ins with direct reports on areas of opportunity, and provide guidance.


  • Internal & General
    • Organize all activities with other cross-functional teams at Rakuten (Technology, Marketing, Sales, etc.) who can support your partner.
    • Internal Maintenance and Involvement: Salesforce, Weekly Updates, Product Stakeholder Projects
    • Present clearly and effectively. Be able to tell a story on publisher trends, and give high level, actionable call outs easily. Have excellent presentation skills.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of online marketing experience with a focus on affiliate marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in managing relationships and seeing projects through.
  • Analytical and strategic marketing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and strategize based on company's goals.
  • A desire to think creatively, solve problems and use professional judgment.
  • Tech savvy; comfortable using Excel and PowerPoint for reports, analysis and presentations.
  • Exemplary written and oral presentation and a talent for presenting.

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.

USD $91,044.00 - $157,248.00 annually
