SUMMARY:
The People Experiences Intern will play a key role in supporting the operational efficiency of the People Experiences team with a global scope. This role focuses on assisting with cross-functional process coordination, leveraging data analytics to drive insights, and contributing to the success of global operational initiatives. The intern will also support project management efforts, ensuring timely delivery of key initiatives and fostering collaboration across teams. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about creating a people-first culture, with a strong interest in human resources, operations, data analytics, and project management, to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, and globally connected environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support cross-functional people experience process coordination and documentation across global teams to ensure seamless and sustainable execution.
- Assist in creating and executing action plans for data informed process and program improvements that are people experience centered
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-regional team members to identify opportunities for People Experience program enhancement, propose and implement solution(s)
- Assist with departmental project management for well-being, workplace culture and engagement initiatives

- Strong interest, experience and/or education in human resources, operations, data analytics, project management, with a global people-first perspective.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with the ability to interpret and present findings effectively to diverse audiences.
- Independently driven with ability to manage projects and tasks respective to priority to support people-centered outcome
- Ability to comfortably communicate with wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, manage multiple priorities effectively, and coordinate across time zones while fostering a culture of inclusion and respect.
- Strong organizational skills (planning and prioritizing), with follow-through
- Able to quickly establish rapport at all levels of the organization
- Project management experience (Monday.com experience is a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Critical thinker with interest in creative solutions
- Previous experience in working in HR and/or people engagement-oriented roles
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in progress
- Graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026
- Relevant major/area of study
- Relevant prior internship, work or volunteer experience (preferred)
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology or a related field
At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the hourly rate for this role will be between $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
