We are looking for an innovative and visionary General Manager to lead the design and development of "AI-native" user experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of the latest advancements in AI technology and a passion for creating seamless, intuitive user interactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI, user experience engineering, and leadership, with a proven ability to drive innovation and deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for AI-native user experiences in alignment with company goals.
  • Collaborate with senior executives and integrate AI-driven experience into the broader product ecosystem.

AI and UX Design Oversight:

  • Lead the design and development of AI-native user experiences, ensuring they are intuitive, engaging, and effective.
  • Stay current with the latest AI technologies and trends to inform design decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

Team Management:

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of AI researchers, UX designers, and engineers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

User-Centric Design:

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design concepts.
  • Ensure that AI-native experiences are designed with a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.

Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of AI-driven user experiences to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to enhance user satisfaction and engagement.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and other departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of AI-native solutions.
  • Communicate technical concepts and progress to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Innovation and Trends:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in AI and UX design.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies to keep the user experiences at the forefront of the industry.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of designing and delivering AI-native user experiences.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, and large language models.
  • Experience with UX design tools and methodologies, such as wireframing, prototyping, and user testing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role, with at least 5 years in AI and UX design.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large scale and complex projects.
  • Proficiency in app, and system design from front end to backend.
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks and tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with global teams and stakeholders.

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.

USD $157,905.00 - $294,690.00 annually
