At Rakuten Advertising, the programmatic partner management team is focused on maximizing revenue across Rakuten's O&O supply through programmatic partnerships and demand optimization. This is accomplished through creating, maintaining and sustaining strategic partnerships with DSPs, SSPs and exchanges.

As the Director of Partner Management, you will oversee our largest and most strategic demand partners globally and engage directly with our partners' C-Level stakeholders and senior executives. You will also build, develop, and manage a strategically focused team of partner managers across Europe, North America, and Asia. The overarching goal for this team is to develop existing partnerships, influence stakeholders and scale indirect revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for influenced and existing partners revenue across Rakuten O&O supply, partner success KPIs, and retention and integration adoption.
  • Lead day to day operations for strategic programmatic partners, including relationship building & management, conducting periodic business reviews, problem-solving, issue resolution, and process improvements.
  • Ensure all partners are receiving the best possible support to meet and exceed revenue expectations across all Rakuten inventories.
  • Build a team of high-performing, motivated, and curious individuals to enable rapid scaling.
  • Be willing to perform hands-on work while team is growing.
  • Communicate effectively with other functional leaders (product, marketing, inventory, partnership team) by solving business challenges together, identifying opportunities for growth, and collaborating to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation.
  • Researching, analysing and setting price points to maximise demand and maintain healthy profit margins
  • Work closely with New Business Programmatic team to assist in the process of acquiring new partners, especially in terms of implementations and technical process advice/support.
  • Manage the demand partner integration process, liaising with our operations team and the partner to see this through to effective completion.
  • Creating and implementing new processes where necessary, and adapting to new/changing products.
  • Keep abreast of current events, global privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA), and any industry trends that impact client business (e.g. Cookieless)
  • Participate in product road map build out discussions based on partner needs with senior leadership, product, & engineering

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience working in the digital media industry, either at a Publisher, Ad Network/DSP or SSP..
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (in business, mathematics or computer science being a plus)
  • People management experience is a strongly desired.
