Rakuten Rewards is seeking a Copywriter, to join our growing Marketing team in UK. We are looking for a highly motivated, creative team player, who is innovative, and can convey our Brand personality. You will be working cross functionally, with the Creative, Email, Content, Promotions, Retention, Social, and Media Buying teams, to ensure that our communications are cohesive, and on-brand.

This role requires a well-rounded individual that can write clear, concise and grammatically correct copy utilizing different writing styles that appeal to various target audiences across multiple mediums (email, website, video, audio etc.), creating original concepts that result in effective and compelling communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop ideas, write and deliver persuasive copy for the website, email marketing campaigns, sales collateral, videos, ads, audio, blogs and more. Adjust writing tone, language and message to address different consumer profiles based on data insights
  • Collaborate with the various teams to leverage shareable content across channels that encourages engagement
  • Contribute, through a creative approach, to the constant evolution of our customer email communications through the life-cycle, including on-boarding, acquisition, retention, up-sell and referral
  • Provide copywriting and ideation support to the brand design teams, helping to develop brand building documents and guidelines
  • Knowledge and recommendations of best-in-class email strategies and tactics e.g. optimizing email for social and mobile, subscription, in-app messages and privacy policies
  • Contributing to creative brainstorming initiatives
  • Integrate with marketing team and build over-arching campaign idea for convergence with larger campaigns.
  • Keep abreast of current trends and technological developments and identify ways to apply them into your work
  • Build and run an editorial calendar; coordinate with other teams to ensure standards
  • Work with the CRM Manager to develop industry leading B2C content that is customized, engaging and on-brand
  • Optimize content for SEO
  • Measure impact and perform analysis to improve critical metrics.
  • Help with localization of process and content to ensure consistency across regions
  • Review and implement process changes to drive operational excellence

  • Experience in the creation and execution of integrated marketing program creatives
  • Creates ideas and executions that work best for their specific mediums (print vs digital vs video, for example)

  • Knowledge of brand & design standards
  • Retail, E-Commerce, or CPG experience a plus

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in an Advertising Copywriting program, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing communications/advertising
  • Strong understanding of grammar, syntax and ways to create and leverage tone of voice.
