Our Technology Services Division (TSD) is at the forefront of Rakuten's AI and Data initiatives, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience and operational efficiency across our diverse portfolio. We are dedicated to developing cutting-edge services in areas such as Search, Recommendation, Advertising and Marketing Optimization, Inventory and Price Optimization, Data and Analytics, Conversation AI, and Rakuten AI for Business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop predictive models on large-scale datasets to address various business problems with statistical modeling, machine learning, and analytics techniques.
  • Develop and implement scalable, efficient, and interpretable modeling algorithms that can work with large-scale data in production systems
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering groups to develop new products and features
  • Assist in testing and validating AI model performance and addressing any issues or bottlenecks in the software

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, or data analytics concepts
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java and C
  • Familiar with one or more machine learning or statistical modeling tools
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability, and conceptual skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, collaboration skills and is a team player
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field.

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the hourly rate for this role will be between $50-60/hr. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
