AR Accountant

Job Description:

Summary:

We are looking for an AR Accountant who is passionate about adding value to the organization by participating in the preparation and review of a complex billing, accounts receivable and revenue process. This position reports to the Director, Accounts Receivable in our Schaumburg, IL office.

The ideal candidate should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask and be a strong communicator, both paper and over the phone, as he or she will frequently deal with higher levels of management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and reconciliation of a complex billing process
  • Preparation and reconciliation of monthly COGS amounts
  • Conduct account research and analysis, including monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Assist in month-end close process
  • Prepare and maintain various reports
  • Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments
  • Identify and recommend efficiency improvements
  • Customer account and GL reconciliations
  • Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues

Minimum Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable
  • Ability to effectively communicate, especially through email
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Excel and other relevant computer applications
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills

Beneficial Skills:

  • Internet industry experience a plus, especially dealing with affiliate relationships
  • Previous month-end close and journal entry preparation experience
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP

Qualification Requirements:

  • BS in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a Billing, Accounts Receivable or Staff Accountant role.

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
