Job Description:
Summary:
We are looking for an AR Accountant who is passionate about adding value to the organization by participating in the preparation and review of a complex billing, accounts receivable and revenue process. This position reports to the Director, Accounts Receivable in our Schaumburg, IL office.
The ideal candidate should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask and be a strong communicator, both paper and over the phone, as he or she will frequently deal with higher levels of management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and reconciliation of a complex billing process
- Preparation and reconciliation of monthly COGS amounts
- Conduct account research and analysis, including monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
- Assist in month-end close process
- Prepare and maintain various reports
- Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments
- Identify and recommend efficiency improvements
- Customer account and GL reconciliations
- Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues

Minimum Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Knowledge of GAAP
- Knowledge of accounts receivable
- Ability to effectively communicate, especially through email
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Excel and other relevant computer applications
- Negotiation and conflict management skills
Beneficial Skills:
- Internet industry experience a plus, especially dealing with affiliate relationships
- Previous month-end close and journal entry preparation experience
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP
Qualification Requirements:
- BS in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a Billing, Accounts Receivable or Staff Accountant role.

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
