Summary

Your tasks will include assisting with collections, supporting the cash application process, addressing customer queries, and contributing to data reporting on aged debt. You will play a key role in supporting our cash collection efforts, and therefore good communication and customer service skills, as well as a willingness to learn, will be important for this role. Training and guidance will be provided throughout the internship to help you succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review customer receivables and facilitate collection by communicating with customers in Europe.
  • Being pro-active and reactive in your collection.
  • Responsible for A/R administration including statement of claims, connection to our legal department, outside collection agencies etc.
  • Identify disputes at an early stage.
  • Interface with sales, billing and account managers to investigate and correct discrepancies.
  • Identify and reconcile cash receipts to customer invoices on a weekly basis.
  • Working in partnership with the sales and operation teams to identify any accounts that fall into arrears and manage them immediately.
  • Report on KPI's ensuring that relevant financial targets are met.
  • Utilize various systems and programs to perform duties, including SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, as well as other proprietary systems.
  • Assistance with ad hoc projects as necessary, and any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on commercial collections experience, preferably in an international setting. Some cash application experience is a plus.
  • Detail oriented, professional, reliable, with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with employees and clients.
  • Be responsive to customer requests and maintain high levels of professionalism at all times.
  • Positive attitude, strong customer relations skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet processing deadlines.
  • Have a good level of understanding around credit risk and financial exposure.
  • Knowledge of key systems preferred, including Oracle and SalesForce.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required, including Word, Outlook, and Excel (intermediate level)
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelines.
