Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs on all automation and equipment within the plant, diagnosing and repairing machine malfunctions, including electrical, electronic or mechanical failure, and fabricating items needed. May include facilities-related items.
Responsibilities
- Execute preventative maintenance and repairs on all machines and equipment in the plant
- Diagnose and repair machine malfunctions, including electrical, electronic or mechanical failure.
- Perform equipment buyoff, installation and validation
- Modify PLC and robot programs
- Service, repair and perform preventive maintenance on vibratory systems.
- Install and maintain ultrasonic welders and perform capability studies to establish process parameters.
- Assists in training of temps and lower skilled mechanics
- Welding, metal machining, machine shop equipment, reading machine schematics and part drawings
- Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic circuits and PLC ladder logic and interface issues, as well as machine vision systems and automatic robots
- Diagnose and repair PLC-related issues, machine vision system issues, and automatic robotic issues
- Install and move production machines and manufacturing equipment; perform equipment buyoff, installation and validation
- May perform setups of production machines and assist with housekeeping, materials handling, and supervise or perform janitorial tasks as needed

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in industrial and equipment maintenance, preferably on high-speed, high volume automated production equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills on automated equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to perform accurate and thorough preventative maintenance, per established procedures
- Able to focus in specific areas as tasked to ensure maximum machine uptime and output
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic)
- Knowledge of low power sensors, switches, pneumatic and hydraulic controls
- Demonstrated ability to train others
- Ability to handle multiple work objectives
- Excellent communication skills
- Experienced in the operation of milling machines, lathes, band saws, grinders and drill presses.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with high-speed continuous motion production lines
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree or pertinent certificates from a technical training school
- Extensive experience in automated assembly operations
- Experience with ladder logic and working with PLCs
- Experience with injection molding is a plus
- Bi-lingual, English/Spanish.
Salary range for candidates based in California: $56,000 - $77,000
Salary ranges include base salary and annual incentive bonus if applicable.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
