Manager of Analytics, R&D Operations - CDMX
Why We Have This Role
As a Manager of Analytics on the Products, eXperience and Engineering (PXE) Analytics & Data Science Team, you will bring the power of our data to Qualtrics, itself. You will be a leader on the core analytics and data science team, building out our data products, including reports and metrics consumed by 1,500+ engineers, product managers and UX designers. You will support data scientists and analysts across Qualtrics in building the datasets they need to provide critical insights, power in-product motions and visualize metrics. You will build and lead the team of analysts that builds these trustworthy data assets from disparate product clickstream, state and customer feedback data sources (e.g., NPS, Social Media, Call/Case Volumes, Product feedback).

Things You'll Do
- You partner with DSA leadership to hire and lead a team of 4+ analysts who own key reports, metrics and datasets for the PXE organization. Partners closely with a team of data scientists who support and leverage the work your team does.
- Once the team is established, you run Kanban or sprint processes to keep the team focused and partner with leaders and stakeholders to triage and set priorities for the team.
- You interact with diverse stakeholders, such as Product Management, Engineering, Design and User Research to identify the right metrics and dimensions to support decisions and to wireframe reports.
- You review dashboards, Python and SQL code, helping maintain a high quality bar for the team.
- You develop quality processes, such as on-call or alerting, to ensure data assets are trustworthy.
- You lead enablement sessions with diverse stakeholders helping them understand and utilize the products produced by the team.
- You master our technologies and coach the team on how to use tools such as Tableau, dbt, Redshift, Airflow and Prefect.
- You partner with engineering and other upstream data providers to understand and define signals needed to improve our data products. As needed, you hold partners accountable for delivering needed signals.
- You write documentation to institutionalize best practices and to make metrics, datasets and reports more accessible.
What We're Looking For On Your Resume
You're a hands-on, technical data leader. You have led and built analytics teams that have produced trustworthy and widely used data assets for their organizations. You balance your technical interests with passion about understanding the customer and business and are comfortable aligning technical work strategic and business goals. You love growing technically and experimenting with new data tools and methodologies. You love data visualization and experimenting with new ways to make data more digestible to diverse audiences. You are detail-oriented and have high standards for teams you lead. You love to develop processes to help everyone work better together. You can code and have applied software engineering best practices to data, such as building things that are reproducible and version controlled. You live "scrappy" and want to join a dynamic, growing, organization.
- Bachelor's Degree in analytical disciplines with majors such as Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Chemistry.
- 3+ years work experience as a manager or tech lead leading teams of analysts, data engineers or data scientists. 10+ years of work experience, including individual contributor experience as a data analyst, data engineering, data science or related role.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL and experienced working with database technologies such as Redshift.
- Experience with or interest in data schematization and modeling. Familiarity with core concepts such as relational algebra and normalization.
- Experience with data visualization and software tools like Tableau, Looker or PowerBI.
- Familiarity with data warehouses, data lake and query services technologies and related concepts such as columnar storage and map reduce.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to drive alignment on approaches to data products and present work to diverse groups of stakeholder
- Receptiveness to feedback and continuous improvement mindset.
- Demonstrated history of handling a wide variety of leadership and management scenarios.
