An internship with PFS offers a unique opportunity to expand your horizons in an exciting industry, gain hands-on experience, and build a solid foundation to support your long-term career goals. During your internship, you can expect to gain a holistic understanding of the Mortgage Lending and Title (Financial Services) industries. We also will invest in you and your continued development through centralized training and development opportunities throughout the summer. Then, in your daily work, you'll work with our experienced professionals in your designated function and contribute to meaningful projects. Lastly, you'll showcase your experience and ideas by closing your internship with a capstone presentation with your local leadership team.

Finance Department:

Hybrid work arrangement - (2-3 times in office per week).

We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team and contribute to supporting Pulte Mortgage's Accounting and FP&A department. This candidate will gain hands-on experience in various accounting and finance tasks, contributing to the success of the department as well as efficient and accurate financial operations of the organization. This internship offers a valuable opportunity for individuals seeking to build a foundation in accounting and explore potential career paths in finance. In addition to core responsibilities, this internship offers a unique opportunity for direct interaction with multiple departments to provide an overview of the mortgage industry.

Overview of Responsibilities:
• Accurately input financial data into accounting software, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
• Assist AP in processing vendor invoices and preparing payments.
• Support maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
• Review and assist in preparing financial reports for the department.
• Assist finance-related projects, such as process improvement or system implementations.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for ongoing projects.
• Provide support to FP&A in developing budgets and providing forecasts.
Projects - Optimizing Accounts Payable and Expense Reimbursement Processes: This project aims to enhance the efficiency of new systems that support the accounts payable (AP) and expense reimbursement processes, providing support in research and implementation. By identifying and addressing challenges, employing solutions, and establishing best practices, this initiative will reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and improve overall operational efficiency.

By participating in this project, you will gain valuable experience in process improvement, project management, and financial operations. This will provide the chance to collaborate with various departments within the organization. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the company's overall efficiency and success.

Intern Role: As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting this project by:

• Conducting process analysis and identifying areas for improvement.
• Assisting in the implementation of new systems and procedures.
• Developing and maintaining documentation and training materials.
• Analyzing data and generating reports to track progress and identify trends.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Required Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Required Education/Experience
  • Our various PFS Internships are ideal for candidates pursuing a number of degrees including Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Communication, Human Resources, Pre-law, or similar degree
    • High School diploma GED, or equivalent education required.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
    • Our various PFS Internships are ideal for candidates pursuing a number of degrees including Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Communication, Human Resources, Pre-law, or similar degree.
    • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application or must have graduated the semester immediately preceding the start of the internship.
    • Minimum of junior status preferred.
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at time of application or graduation preferred

Required Knowledge/Skillsets

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently across all levels.

  • Detail-oriented, with a sharp eye for accuracy in both project work and daily tasks.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the capability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Adaptable and self-motivated, demonstrating agility to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bias for action, with a proactive approach and a desire to make a meaningful impact alongside teammates.
  • Strong interest in the homebuilding, real estate, and/or construction industry as a preferred career field.
  • Added plus are students who are involved in extracurricular activities outside of their curriculum responsibilities (i.e., student organizations, leadership roles, student athletes, NAHB student competition, etc.).

2025 Summer Internship Blueprint: In your 2025 internship role you will work alongside our experienced professionals and mirror that team's schedule and flexibility models. Please read each role's description and discuss with your hiring team to best understand the team's expectations.
  • Application Dates: November 1st, 2024 - March 14th, 2025
  • Internship Dates: May 19th, 2025 - August 8th, 2025 (12 weeks) *Schedule may be adjusted based on individual student need.
  • 40 hours per week; schedule depends on the internship position and its requirements.
  • Compensation: Pay $22/hour
  • Benefits: Temporary employees are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Plan.
  • Format: Exact schedule will vary based on intern position and team; interns will mirror the schedule/format of their designated team.
  • Each intern will have the opportunity to shadow various functions that go into the homebuilding and lending processes.
  • Internships may include a capstone presentation or final project.
  • Located in Englewood, CO near Denver.
