POSITION OVERVIEW

Position Institutional Sales Professional - Central Region

Position Location Remote with travel to Newark, NJ regularly

PGIM Fixed Income seeks an experienced institutional business development professional to drive new asset growth and diversification of institutional client base throughout the Central region. This role will bring at least 15 years of experience in the institutional asset management industry with a focus on covering asset owners in the Central US such as corporate DB plans, public funds, endowments, foundations, hospitals, etc. This role will serve as the more experienced business development professional within a team of two. Serving as a role model and supporting the junior sales team member will be expected. Expertise and experience representing the broad spectrum of fixed income and credit (public and private) capabilities are essential.

The Central territory includes the following states: Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kentucky, Arkansas, Ohio, Oklahoma, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and West Virginia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Institutional Sales Professional will be responsible for building PGIM Fixed Income's business in a manner that is consistent with its investment capabilities, goals, and culture through the following efforts:

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to capitalize on opportunities in the institutional marketplace.
  • Proactively identify, create, and progress new business opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Maintain a strong industry network through conference attendance and other avenues, as well as a solid understanding of the competitive landscape and how it is evolving.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the growth and diversification of PGIM Fixed Income's revenue base.
  • Work with Business Development Colleagues, Client Relationship Managers, and Consultant Relations Teams to identify new business opportunities.
  • Mentor and develop the junior sales support colleague.
  • Communicate with various constituents throughout the organization to provide market/industry information and feedback.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Proven track record in an institutional sales capacity of at least 15+ years; 3+ years focused on sales in the Central US
  • In-depth understanding of fixed income strategies (HY, IG, Distressed, Structured Products, Bank Loans, LDI, and absolute return) and the financial markets, along with the ability to clearly discuss investment techniques, strategies, and concepts.
  • Experience working with a wide variety of asset owners regarding asset allocation requirements, and risk parameters/budgets and demonstrate the ability to establish

substantial relationships with senior levels of authority across the institutional investor base.

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to drive for results, setting and achieving dramatic and compelling goals and schedules.
  • Strong organizational, conceptual, and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • FINRA licenses 3, 7, and 63 licenses (or within 6 months of the start date).
  • Strong academic background in business, economics, finance, or related field; MBA and/or CFA preferred.
