What you will do

As our client's needs evolve and our business continues to grow, we are creating a new role within PGIM Fixed Income to help identify solutions that help us better service our insurance clients. We achieve this by helping our investors own attractive assets in a way format that works for their respective balance sheet.

In this highly visible role, you will report to the Co-head of Securitized Products and work very closely with the investment teams across fixed income (not limited to just securitized). You will also work closely with our clients and other external partners (trading counterparties, issuers, rating agencies, etc.).

The ideal candidate will have an understanding across a variety of asset classes (consumer credit, commercial lending, mortgage, fund finance, private credit, etc.), an established understanding of the regulatory landscape for insurers (US, Bermuda and Japan) and a robust network of market participants across rating agencies, issuers, and other investors.

This position is performed in a hybrid manner with a mix of work performed from our office in Newark, NJ and remotely. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees meet with their team in the office on set days of the week and can work remotely the remainder of the week. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration and may be required during group specific events (Town Halls, etc.).

What you can expect

  • Work closely with investment teams to structure assets to achieve desired regulatory and accounting treatment for our clients.
  • Work closely with the accounting policy teams of significant clients to ensure proposed capital solutions achieve each client's respective priorities.
  • Work with portfolio management and product development to design PGIM fund offerings for insurance clients with statutory and rating agency capital constraints.
  • Collaborate with affiliated business units to find solutions for internal and external insurance clients. Includes both prospective and existing investments.

What you will bring

  • Minimum of 7 years' work experience, preferably in investment banking, insurance or asset management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in structuring transactions to optimize insurance capital requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and sensitivities of insurers regulated in the US, Bermuda, Japan and the European Union.
  • Robust investment background in various collateral types (corporate credit, CRE, and asset-based finance) to assist the securitized product team structure the underlying asset cash flows to achieve long-term capital efficiency within vehicles for insurance clients.
  • Highly organized.
  • Excellent quantitative/analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel, both internal and external.
  • Established relationships with NRSROs and regulatory bodies is a strong differentiator.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The base salary range for this role is from $175,000 to $200,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
