Your Team & Role

As an Oracle ERP Functional Analyst in the Finance and Actuarial Technology team at Prudential, you will collaborate with business users, product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals. Your role involves understanding business requirements, creating design documents, configuring systems, preparing test plans, testing, and debugging applications. You will implement solutions to solve complex financial business problems, onboard new business services, and enhance customer experiences. Bringing strong finance functional knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and teamwork capabilities, you'll apply agile methodologies and a focus on continuous learning to all your tasks. Your inclusive attitude and business insight will drive success in our Global Ledger initiatives.

Location: Newark, NJ hybrid and requires a minimum of two days per week in office.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Design and Implementation: Participate in the design, build, and implementation of business system solutions using Oracle eBusiness Suite to solve complex business requirements. Help bridge the gap between 'business problems' and 'technology solutions'.
  • Documentation and Execution: Identify, document, and/or execute aspects of As-Is Processes, Business Requirements, To-Be Solutions, Functional Specifications, Configuration, Test Plans, and Test Scripts for straightforward initiatives. Assist with these deliverables for complex initiatives.
  • System Configuration: Investigate system configuration options to provide functional assistance when developing solutions to meet business requirements. Enable the use of standard functionality to meet business needs whenever possible.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with senior functional analysts, technical development teams, and coordinate work efforts when addressing new implementations, functionality enhancements, application updates, and performance issues.
  • Issue Resolution: Assist with issue resolution and work directly with users on Help Desk issues. Initiate and manage Service Requests (SRs) with Oracle Support.
  • Task Execution: Independently execute assigned tasks associated with projects, maintenance, and BAU activities.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience working with Oracle ERP financial modules.
  • Problem Solving and Communication: Excellent problem-solving, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Hands-on Experience:
    • Oracle Financial R12 Modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, iExpense, and purchasing.
    • Configuring and setting up Oracle ERP finance modules.
    • Executing setups and configurations to meet specific business requirements.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Oracle Applications data model and SQL skills.
    • Familiarity with OAS - Oracle Business Intelligence for Reporting.
    • Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle Reports, and similar reporting tools.
    • Basic understanding of integration methods for Oracle ERP with other systems.
  • Learning and Adaptability: Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to benefit the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience participating in ERP implementation or upgrade projects.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
  • Basic understanding of APIs and SAAS platform integrations.
  • Inquisitive nature and passion for learning new technologies.
  • Financial/Insurance industry knowledge is a plus, but not required.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $85,100.00 to $126,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
