The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • The communication manager, Global Insurance & Retirement, will be aligned with and work across the Group Insurance and Individual Life Insurance business units, in partnership across the broader Prudential Communications function, to expand and deliver key external and internal communications campaigns, events, and business unit-specific content.
  • The successful candidate will take a lead role in and partner with teammates in completing the external and internal communications strategies that will serve to accelerate the growth plans of the partner groups, connect employees to the business strategy, and engage customers in a conversation about Prudential's purpose, value and business solutions.
  • This role will work with the strategy teams, other externally focused communication team members, and the Content & Creative teams to manage the execution of communication campaigns, which will include such things as: developing and delivering press releases and media pitches under the direction of the business communications strategist, to promote content (thought leadership, solutions, etc.) through the Prudential newsroom; providing internal communications support as needed for programs and critical initiatives for the Group Insurance and Individual Life Insurance businesses, drafting internal and external content including stories, newsletters, and bylines.

What you'll need:

  • 4+ years communications experience (PR agency, non-profit or corporate)
  • Ability to lead communications campaigns and deliverables to life in a meaningful way by partnering across the entire Prudential Communications team
  • Experience interacting with media, drafting news releases and media kits/briefing documents
  • Ability to swing into action to help across the entire US Businesses communications team, serve as a lateral integrator within the team and provide guidance around streamlining overlapping work, understanding and advising on audience needs, and helping solve challenges before they arise.
  • Business Acumen: Understands the organization's internal and external business environments, including how it delivers value to customers, the markets it operates in, and how its separate functions work together.
  • Outcomes Focus: Prioritizes projects that directly support business objectives and that Communications can add clear value to, and within those projects prioritizes the tasks most vital for achieving project outcomes.
  • Creativity: Sees connections that others do not, successfully applies ideas drawn from seemingly unrelated contexts, and generates a wide array of useful solutions to solve problems.
  • Persuasive Influence: Effectively persuades others, remains diplomatic in difficult situations, and leverages a large network of relationships for the good of the business.
  • Channel Management: Understands various communication channels available for our organization to use, makes recommendations for maximum impact and mixes them effectively.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $115,800.00 to $172,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
