We are seeking a Learning Specialist to be an innovative, collaborative team member within the HR Learning and Development function that contributes to company performance by building business-critical skills and capabilities and driving employee engagement through delivery of new learning options that build mission-critical skills at scale.

L&D is part of the HR Talent & Diversity CoE which drives Prudential's talent management and inclusive culture efforts; this position will report directly to the VP of Enterprise Learning.

As the Learning Specialist, you are passionate about developing our next generation of leaders. You are a pro at facilitation and coaching and enjoy working with diverse groups of people to deliver enterprise-wide learning and leadership development programs. You will continuously evaluate and iterate on these learning experiences and methodologies to ensure they are meeting stated objectives and improving the skills, competencies, and know-how of our people.

The current EWA for this position is Newark, NJ hybrid and requires a minimum of 2 days/ week in office. Some travel may be required.

What you'll do:

  • Facilitate programs that result in impact and drive outcomes such as: classroom training, virtual classroom, on-the-job training, blended learning, and leadership development programs.
  • Use proven adult learning principles to help develop and deliver high quality internal people development programs that sharpen skills and promote inclusion and belonging.
  • Assist in the design and development of learning programs using instructional design principles and learning technologies to support effective learning experiences.
  • Manage Programs to ensure operational excellence, e.g., measure program effectiveness, develop mechanisms to ensure feedback and continuous program improvement, and deliver results for the business and stakeholders. Make edits to materials as needed to keep programming fresh and applicable
  • Understand the basic anatomy and physiology of the brain and how adults learn best.
  • Manage cognitive overload during teaching and learning sessions; and
  • Lead with a neuro-science mindset and research- and science- backed perspective.
  • Conduct Train the Trainer sessions and work with Talent Catalysts, Learning Partners, and HRBPs (among others) to ensure consistency and professionalism in delivery.
  • Coach and follow up with individuals post-learning interventions, as necessary.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in facilitation of leadership programs in a corporate environment,
  • Knowledgeable about DEI practices and application in a business context.
  • Certification in DISC and Situational Leadership programs
  • Ability to apply adult learning principles and principles of neuroscience to effectively engage an audience and lead training sessions for groups of varying skill levels.
  • A strategic mindset and a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and be adaptable as situations require.
  • Strong communication, public speaking, facilitation, and coaching skills with a desire to see others succeed.
  • Demonstrated experience developing a variety of training content, materials, curricula, as well as experience conducting virtual and live classroom training. Knowledge of novel ways of engaging learners in a virtualized environment
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills; able to navigate a complex organization, able to collaborate effectively with peers, business leaders, HR leaders and employees.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience with a drive for high standards and results orientation.
  • Familiarity with LMS and other learning content delivery platforms such as Degreed
  • You have used Microsoft 365 (Office Apps) and you are quick and unafraid to learn new technologies.

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • Coaching certification such as through ACC or ICF
  • Solid vendor relationship management skills and the ability to partner with training vendors to build, adapt, and manage learning programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with senior executives across the enterprise, providing coaching and support throughout program advancement and implementation.
  • Strong working relationships with HRBPs, Talent Partners, Business Resource Groups, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and other internal partners to ensure program content and approach is aligned with our business objectives and enterprise priorities.

An ideal candidate for the L&D function is agile and intellectually curious, able to influence and provide thought leadership in their domain of expertise while effectively navigating ambiguity and driving business outcomes with a learner centric approach. The individual must demonstrate business insight and possess a passion about learning and enhancing learner engagement. Additionally, the ability to build outstanding and constructive working relationships with key partners and foster an inclusive environment will be critical. All L&D team members will need to demonstrate these skills to ensure we collectively deliver optimal business value and customer impact.

The salary range for this role is from $83,400.00 to $124,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
