Your Team & Role
As a Lead Quality Automation Engineer in our Group Insurance (GI) Product Development Journey, you will partner with Product Owners, Technical Leads, Designers, Scrum Masters, Architects, and Engineers to test Group Insurance Products implementations across supporting systems. You will design, create, test, and deploy test-driven solutions across multiple technology domains delivering business capabilities that support Product Delivery. You must demonstrate strong logical and creative problem-solving abilities, good oral and written communication, and excellent analytical skills.

You will be part of a team who will deliver new GI Products to the marketplace that utilize reusable solutions across many applications. Speed to market and marketplace adaptability are critical to the future of the GI Product Solutions which can only be achieved by building the right Automation Regression Test beds that span the entire Product Customer Lifecycle and Solution. Reusability of the Automation Regression Test beds will be pivotal to delivering new Products to the consumer market quickly and efficiently. Since numerous applications will be impacted, it will be critical that this leader will have great management skills, experience in cross organization environments, milestone management, and amazing collaboration skills.
Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day
- Designing, writing, reviewing, and executing automated test scripts using Selenium & Cucumber for Test Automation.
- Maintaining and enhancing existing automated test scripts and frameworks to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Well versed with UI & back-end automation testing to ensure there is the right level of testing for the Product changes.
- Contributing to the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes by integrating automated tests into build pipelines to enable quick responses to compliance, regulatory, and product changes.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices in test automation and applying them to improve test development and execution processes.
- Developing Quality Management plans and overall Test Strategy for each Iteration and Program Increment. Reviewing test plans and conducting peer reviews of plans and test cases.
- Working with Product Owners to ensure business requirements enable test cases meet automation standards and fulfill business expectations for quality software output.
- Update Quality Tools with requirement traceability, test cases, test sets, and defects according to QA standards and report status on the QA review report.
- Hands on test creation and execution of user stories (Smoke, Functional Integration, and Regression) and logging defects.
- Engage Development Team in defect resolution and lead defect review calls.
- Assisting testing with other groups for Non-functional QA phases (Data Creation, Performance, Security, Accessibility).
- Provide guidance around QA Strategies, Proactive Governance, and Risk Management for overall quality delivery of platform applications. Working collaboratively across Scrums Teams, Release Trains, and Journeys to test across our partner BUs to ensure success by applying best practice principals, and techniques.
- Self-Development and Training especially with AI, ML, and new technologies emerging in the market.
- Able to build out GI Product Test Plans across all systems and with clear environment plans of how new products will be implemented with reusable Test Data for optimal regression testing.
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- Bachelor or Master of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields
- Experience in the execution and control of all aspects of testing
- Expertise in Web based and Mobile testing, knowledge of J2EE applications testing
- Experience with testing RESTful micro-services architecture on the cloud
- Understanding of cloud database, NoSQL concepts (DynamoDB, Aurora) including caching (ElastiCache) and SQL for RDBMS
- Good working knowledge of test automation processes, concepts, and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Jmeter, FitNesse, Postman, SoapUI, Protractor, Cucumber, Jira Xray, and Scripting.
- Experience with multiple development methodologies (e.g., Agile, NWOW, and Hybrid) & different tools (JIRA, Confluence, MIRO).
- Experience with ETL (e.g. DataStage, Informatica), Rest API automation, and Unix scripting to enable data sourcing, transformation, and validation.
- Leading the development and execution of fast test scripts that are easily reusable and maintainable.
- Familiarity with Jenkins and integrating into CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge with the following AWS and technologies (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, Mongo, Glue, Athena, Parquet file format)
- Creating Jira Xray test along with test evidence to ensure test coverage with clearly outline summary, description, relevant tests, and status with screenshots or screen recordings
- Jira Xray Test Execution must be created and execution results recorded prior to product owner accepting the story with mapping back to Jira Align and Cloud.
- Defects should be traceable to the original User Story which identifies the acceptance criteria or has the acceptance criteria identified.
- Regression Test must be in an organized manner, so they are easy to utilize in the future especially when there is a change to an existing feature.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
