Your Team
As a Lead, Data Management & Governance in Prudential's Chief Data Office (CDO), you will join a team of change agents who specialize in making data easier to find, understand and access to use in support of business goals. You will partner with stakeholders across the business and technology to improve the way that Prudential manages its data. CDO's Data Management & Governance team is responsible for the policy, standards and capabilities needed to manage data risk and promote its use.

In addition to your Data Management expertise, you will bring problem solving, communication and teamwork, along with agile ways of working, business acumen, inclusive leadership skill and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.
This role is based in our office in Newark, NJ. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring weekly basis at least 3 days per week.
Here is what you can expect on a typical day
- Partner with stakeholders to increase collective understanding of data mesh, data products & data marketplace.
- Build and manage a roadmap of data products to onboard into the marketplace; solicit new product ideas, manage the intake process, and generate stories for the marketplace team.
- Examine each new product to confirm that ensure that data product candidates meet data product publishing standards. Define new governance standards needed for this capability.
- Coordinate or perform cataloging and metadata enrichment work where needed for new data products that include structured data assets.
- Work with business partners, governance peers, project teams, and leaders to gather and understand functional requirements that support the development of business-impact-driven initiatives and projects and establishing projects plans for execution using operationalized capabilities, resources, and tools.
- Demonstrate expertise in Data Governance, educating and advising business partners on how to prioritize and implement Data Management and Governance Policies in the context of the business.
- Actively contribute to enhancing Data Governance capabilities by applying continuous learning and improvement techniques to people, processes, and technology.
- Help develop and deliver enterprise-wide training materials and practices.
- Analyze complex and ambiguous problems, exercising your judgment to independently determine the best path to achieve results.
Skills & Expertise You Will Need
- Demonstrated success driving enterprise outcomes by creating clarity in complex and ambiguous environments.
- Strong emotional intelligence and organizational awareness with the ability to grow productive, trusting relationships with key stakeholders. Effectively coach others, challenge norms and influence decisions without formal authority.
- Consultatively assess business partner needs through active listening, absorbing information quickly, and integrating diverse ideas for the benefit of the organization.
- Strong executive presentation skills, both oral and written; able to tailor communication style to effectively meet the needs of audience at all levels of the organization.
- Solid understanding of Metadata Management, Data Mesh, & Data Product Management principles and the ability to learn and adapt to Prudential's principles and approach.
- Ability to apply emerging technologies and innovation to Data Management and Governance in the day-to-day. Continuous learning mindset.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in areas such as MIS or Data / Information Management; or experience in related fields.
- Experience with agile development methodologies, particularly scrum and SAFe.
- Experience with Data Governance tools such as Informatica, Purview, Collibra, Atlan or Alation.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
