What you will do

Our Investment Operations team is part of PGIM Global Services group that provides recordkeeping, accounting, reporting and technology services for the investment portfolios supporting the Insurance Companies. Additionally, we support all investment data for the Chief Investment Officer and the Chief Risk officer for Prudential.

The Regulatory Reporting team in the Investment Operations group is responsible for providing pricing, valuation, accounting, financial reporting, and recordkeeping support for Prudential and its subsidiaries. The financial reporting is performed on a Statutory and Tax basis. You will specifically support the Tax, Pricing, and Valuation Reporting Team which consists of reconciling, reporting, and analyzing Bond & Equity security positions and transactions by utilizing the PAM Investment sub-ledger system, and the General Ledger (Oracle). You will also be accountable for the application of accounting rules and practices as appropriate for the various portfolios.

This position is based in one of our offices in Tampa, FL Or/ Newark, NJ and will follow a hybrid schedule (2 days in office). Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and/ from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

What you can expect

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP & STAT reports, such as:

- Monthly subledger to ledger proofs

- Monthly Market value reconciliation

- Quarterly MD&A Supplemental schedules

- Quarterly cashflows for Fixed Maturities, Trading Assets, Equity at Fair Value, and Short-Term Bonds.

- Annual GAAP Surveys and footnote disclosures

- Statutory Schedule D, DA and E along with General Interrogatories and Notes to Financials

  • Preparing General Ledger entries monthly for GAAP Market Value adjustments.
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations for Asset and Income accounts.
  • Researching issues related to accounting entries and the subledger Investment system.
  • GAAP to STAT balance sheet reconciliation
  • Documenting procedures for any new reporting requirements.
  • Completing various ad-hoc requests that are received from internal clients.
  • Gathering information for both internal and external audits.
  • Special projects as needed.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger is a plus
  • Knowledge of investment accounting and of various investments instruments
  • High level of self-motivation and dedication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Client focused and results oriented work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and work as a member of the team
  • Ability to work overtime during peak periods

  • Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger
  • Prior background / internship experience in investment management or financial services Industry is strongly preferred.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $60,000 to $70,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
