Your Team & Role
As a Infrastructure Developer on Prudential's cloud team, you will partner with tech leads, designers, software engineers and delivery professionals to improve Prudential's public cloud environments. You will focus on delivering a tech-forward, secure, and reliable set of features to the organization's application and infrastructure development teams who are focused on delivering new experiences and capabilities to internal and external customers.

Our cloud team is made up of a diverse set of engineers and developers who use their skills in DevOps, networking, information security, automation, software development, and beyond to shape the features that make up Prudential's global cloud strategy.
Our Technology Stack
- Cloud landing zones in AWS and Azure.
- Cloud-native services for building application infrastructure, such as AWS SQS for message queues, S3 for object storage, and DynamoDB for database/document storage, ECS and EKS for container orchestration.
- Infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Open Policy Agent (OPA) / Rego for defining policy-as-code.
- Git, Jenkins, Terraform Enterprise, and related tools for DevOps capabilities.
- JavaScript/React, Python/FastAPI, and similar frameworks for web front-end and backend development.
Your responsibilities as an Infrastructure Developer:
- Develop in Python, Bash/Shell scripting, React/NodeJS, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Build infrastructure within our cloud-based environments like AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Participate in peer-review of pull requests for proposed code changes. Similarly, respond to your peer's feedback on your own proposed changes.
- Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design, and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact and support the goals.
- Bring an applied understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, look for opportunities to provide input to the team and coach others and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day.
- Apply infrastructure fundamentals to Linux/Unix operating systems, database, network and TCP/IP, and common communication protocols.
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- 1 to 3 years of working in a software development, infrastructure support, DevOps, or cloud-based technology environment.
- Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Applied experience with several of the following technologies. The cloud embraces a wide area of technology disciplines - and it's not expected that everyone is an expert in all of them! However, the right candidate will be able to speak to one or more of these in depth while being able to demonstrate the ability to expand their knowledge into the others.
- Software Development: Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), code review processes, automated CI/CD mechanisms, different testing mechanisms
- Programming Languages: Java, Python, PowerShell, bash/shell scripting, JavaScript/React/NodeJS, OPA/Rego
- Infrastructure as Code: Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform
- Server Operating System Administration: Network configuration, security and logging, filesystem permissions, etc. for Windows and/or Linux
- Container Platforms: Running Docker/LXC containers on container platforms like AWS ECS or a variant of a hosted Kubernetes (k8s) cluster such as EKS, AKS, GKE, etc.
- Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of how data traverses a network. Be able to explain the various layers of the OSI model, and how different layers may relate to various security control points.

The salary range for this role is from $83,000.00 to $123,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
