Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Enablement, this role will combine the perspective of a communications strategist with the capabilities of a data analyst. Your task will be to help translate our broad communications impact measures into useable frameworks that help communications strategists across our businesses and functions enhance their impact and ability to deliver value. You will serve as counselor, coach and educator, while keeping a pulse on industry trends and advancements in analytics that enable us to continuously refine and improve our data and insight capabilities on behalf of the enterprise. This involves leading engagements with vendors, consulting on communications measurement best-practices, and partnering across the enterprise to gain insights and advancements that can be integrated into our approach, and help inform communication strategies.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • Build and maintain relationships with strategists across Prudential Communications, as well as the broader enterprise, to enhance the use of communications intelligence to fuel strategic impact.
  • Lead proprietary research initiatives in partnership with external vendors (e.g., our quarterly custom stakeholder panel), ensuring data accuracy and extracting actionable insights; socialize findings with senior leaders and communications colleagues.
  • With guidance from the Vice President, Strategic Enablement, act as liaison between Prudential Communications Strategic Enablement and other data and analytics leaders within the company (e.g., Employee Insights, Chief Data Office, etc.) - advocating for and helping to create always-on pathways to share information and methods, where available, as well as reporting frameworks and outputs.
  • Help to expand the team's capabilities around predictive analytics, leading to elevated insights that fuel more creative and impactful strategic communications planning.
  • Provide ongoing strategic and technical coaching to intelligence team resources and partners - ensuring quality-control, alignment with up-to-date function templates and protocols, and adherence to data analytics and other relevant research best practices.
  • Help oversee our intelligence system, ensuring connectivity between measurement programs and business needs, and proactively identifying gaps and other opportunities to optimize the program as business needs evolve.
  • Play a driving role in the exploration, testing and adoption strategy for AI tools across the communications function, in line with enterprise standards and reflecting prioritized business use cases.
  • Actively promote Strategic Enablement work across the function and the enterprise.
  • As needed, manage complex intelligence projects and strategic initiatives.

What you'll need:

  • 7-10 years of professional experience, including communications and/or marketing experience; bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Strong track record of leveraging data-based insights for strategic communication improvement and translating research findings to inform non-technical senior executive audiences.
  • Proven experience in primary audience/market research, financial research, digital/SEO research, or data analytics - including knowledge of predictive analytics.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a client-centric and solutions mindset, propensity for action, and ability to work in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent relationship management, client engagement, and persuasive influence skills.
  • Robust technical translational skills - you're just as comfortable engaging with data scientists and analysts as you are engaging with generalist senior executives.
  • Approachable executive presence; ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • A leader and doer who knows when to delegate and when to roll up sleeves.
  • Grace under pressure with a high degree of comfort operating in fluid, rapidly changing situations.

Desired Skills:

  • Relevant business knowledge, with a preference for financial services experience a plus.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing research and/or communications talent.
  • Exposure to analytics, alerting, and research databases, such as Factiva, Bloomberg, Cision, Meltwater, Zignal, Signal AI, Quid preferred.
  • Experience in data visualization strategies

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $148,800.00 to $201,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
