We're looking for a dynamic, passionate, copywriter who wants the opportunity to tell great stories for one of the most respected, purpose-driven brands in the world-Prudential. The best candidate will have the ability and desire to take complicated financial services content and translate it into simple, concise, compelling copy that inspires consumer audiences to take action. This position will be part of the USB (US Businesses) Creative Team with a specific focus on the Association segments within our Group Insurance business, one of the most respected financial services sales organizations in the world.
This position is part of a highly-focused creative team that primarily supports the work for one external client. The ideal candidate should have experience with direct-response copywriting and a demonstrated portfolio of success in this area, preferably in the financial services space. The copywriter must be familiar with the process of creating marketing materials that are highly variable, segmented, and personalized to myriad sub-sections within target audiences.

The ideal writer should be able to take and implement feedback to grow as a creative professional. This position supports a fast-paced organization and so the ability to manage complex, multi-step tasks is key to success. Finally, the ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and a keen ability to think outside the box.
The USB Creative Team is a highly collaborative environment where fast, great work is a mandatory. We're seeking a copywriter who wants to have a real impact. A copywriter who is relentless about asking questions and eager to work with client and pitch and defend the work. The USB Creative Team is fully aligned to helping the US Businesses achieve their goals. So you'll need to be as passionate about solving business problems and achieving business goals and objectives as you are about doing award-winning creative work.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm, strategize, and create content that promotes products and services for the Group Insurance and Prudential
- Consult with cross-functional team members and creative leaders to create great copy
- Establish and enforce Prudential's brand, messaging, and voice AS WELL AS the brand, messaging, and tone of voice for clients for whom we serve
- Ensure creative material is well-researched, effective and consistent with goals and brand standards
- Present themes and concepts to key stakeholders and business partners, champion that work through to completion, and incorporate learnings for continued improvement
- Interview business partners, senior executives, subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather the information needed to create effective business messaging
- Stay current on marketing communications trends in and out of the industry
- Be in the know about various new media communications methods
- Understand Prudential's institutional audiences and how to best communicate with them
- Recognize the nuances of communicating through all media formats and converting messaging to be applicable across all media
- Meet or exceed all deadlines and deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school
- 3+ years copywriting experience
- Experience in financial services, life insurance, AD&D, and disability insurance is preferred
- Demonstrated conceptual ability in digital and offline channels
- Ability to differentiate between an idea and an execution
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma, or ability/desire to learn as part of the collaborative process
- Detail oriented, sound writing/editorial judgment
- Clear, concise, and confident verbal communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity and a team-oriented, collaborative spirit
- Portfolio demonstrating skills in all media

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $83,500.00 to $129,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
