The Broker Dealer Financial Reporting team has an opening for an associate manager to join the team. This Associate Manager will be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting activities of the broker dealers.

The Broker Dealer Financial Reporting team within Corporate Controllers is responsible for preparing legal entity financial statements (both GAAP and regulatory) for three Broker Dealers ("BD's") including Prudential Investment Management Services (" PIMS"), Pruco Securities ("PRUCO"), and Prudential Annuities Distributors Inc. ("PAD"). These BD's are registered with the SEC and are the distributors of various securities products, including Prudential's proprietary mutual funds and variable life annuity products. These BD's are members of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc ("FINRA"). PIMS also acts as a clearing broker responsible for execution, clearance & other services for the daily mutual fund trading activity in Prudential Retirement Services' ("PRS") mutual fund platform.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • Responsible for the preparation and assembly of regulatory (FOCUS) and GAAP financial statements & supporting financial analyses for Prudential's three broker dealers.
  • Maintain an awareness of existing and emerging regulatory and GAAP reporting requirements of a registered broker-dealer.
  • General accounting & financial reporting responsibilities include preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries with supporting analyses. Also includes extensive partnering & support with key business partners.
  • Participate in preparation of weekly SEC Rule 15c3-3 (customer protection) computation (segregated cash balances wired timely into Special Reserve bank account).
  • Gather and review financial support including account analyses, trade blotters, registered representative count, and trade statistics, business metrics, and data mining.
  • Interface with internal and external auditors in the conduct of their periodic reviews of the broker dealers.

What you'll need:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting of Finance (advanced professional degree, a strong plus)
  • 3-5 years experience in broker dealer accounting & financial reporting preferred
  • Solid general understanding of financial markets and investment products
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of various teams
  • Adaptable to change and transition
  • Ability to work overtime required during peak periods

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • CPA license
  • Experience with Oracle G/L system
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory abilities

The salary range for this role is from $90,100.00 to $134,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
