Sepsis Program Coordinator RN @ Swedish Cherry Hill

Day Shift
The RN Sepsis Coordinator, under the direction of the Director, is accountable for the overall management, leadership, and direction of the clinical and operational activities of the Sepsis program at Swedish campuses. The Coordinator will work to create an environment that fosters a multidisciplinary and collaborative team approach to care, treatment, and follow-up for septic patients that achieves operational and clinical "Best Practice." The Coordinator works with campus directors, unit managers, and other leadership teams to oversee the daily operations of the sepsis program initiatives and assists nursing, medical, and ancillary staff in providing quality care outcomes for the care of patients with sepsis. The Coordinator achieves and maintains excellent performance and tracks and reports impact of sepsis care delivery on patients' quality of life; always striving to improve, while acting in partnership with all departments. They will also support compliance efforts, physician and nurse education, sepsis documentation, and length of stay.

- Develop and Implement evidence-based protocols for early identification and management of sepsis.
- Collect and analyze data related to sepsis cases, including compliance with protocols and patient outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sepsis management protocols and work with multidisciplinary teams at Swedish, the Providence Swedish North Division, and the Providence System to make necessary adjustments.
- Prepare and present reports on sepsis outcomes, system initiatives, and barriers to hospital leadership and quality improvement committees.
- Represent the sepsis program on various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster a fiscally sound and quality/outcomes-driven program.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals) to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to sepsis management.
- Assist local teams with structure and guidance in completing multidisciplinary case reviews to identify opportunities for improvement in sepsis care.
- Create and maintain policies related to sepsis care and protocols.
- Ensure that Sepsis management practices comply with national guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Report sepsis outcomes to relevant sepsis organizations both locally and at the state level.
- Provide ongoing education and training to clinical staff about sepsis recognition, treatment protocols, and the importance of early intervention.
- Keep up to date on the latest research and advancements in sepsis care.
- Serve as an expert resource on sepsis to the multidisciplinary team.
- Navigate the complexity of a complex matrixed organization with multiple campuses.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to operationalize sepsis protocols across multiple care areas (ex. Emergency department, critical care, medical surgical, perinatal, etc).
- Assist in the development and implementation of innovations in sepsis care.
- Maintain continuous communication to focus strategic goals and priorities throughout organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited Bachelors Nursing degree program or completion of an accredited Nursing program with a Bachelor's degree or higher in a health care field. Or equivalent educ/experience
- Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 5 years Professional nursing experience in Critical Care or Emergency Department, with demonstration of competent clinical judgment and clinical leadership ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree Nursing or Business Administration
- 1 year Experience as Program Coordinator, Clinical Leader or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
