Senior Auditor (Hybrid)

Birmingham, AL
The Senior Auditor will be responsible for leading and conducting operational and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies and procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of auditing principles and practices, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

***This role will be titled Analyst II Op Compl Audit within the organization.***

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and lead audit engagements, including risk assessment and scoping, develop audit programs, perform testing and documentation of results.
  • Identify and evaluate internal control weaknesses recommending solutions to improve controls, including identifying areas for process improvement and cost savings.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports clearly communicating findings and recommendations to management, including tracking progress of action plans and ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and follow-up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure corrective actions are taken and are effective in addressing the identified issues.
  • Stay current on industry developments and regulatory requirements to ensure audit procedures are updated to address any changes.
  • Comply with Institute of Internal Audit professional practices, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards, and maintaining the integrity of the audit process.

Qualifications/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in auditing, with insurance industry experience preferred
  • CISA, CIA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of auditing standards and internal control frameworks
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $61,000 to $95,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities [through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance] OR [through cash compensation as part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).
