Day To Day Substitute Teacher ( 13 Locations)

Opportunity:

Propel Schools is currently seeking day-to-day Substitute Teachers throughout our 13 buildings to join our amazing team. The Substitute Teacher will be responsible for covering day-to-day absences in the assigned building. This role is a great opportunity to become familiar with propel school's culture and many different class settings. This pathway will prepare you to eventually become a classroom teacher at Propel Schools.   1. Instructs scholars and groups in specified content areas.
  2. Monitors students' progress in and outside of the classroom.
  3. Maintains the physical environment of the classroom.
  4. Carries out lesson plans that were either left by the classroom teacher or rolls out pre-planned lessons appropriate for grade level and Subject area.
  5. Provides support to scholar overall learning when not assigned to a specific classroom, including but not limited to duties coverage, working with small groups of students, etc.

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competency, high degree of emotional intelligence and self-awareness with the ability to reflect and adapt to diverse environments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • DTD Substitutes who do not hold a PA certification will be required to obtain a PA DTD Emergency Certification for the year and LEA associated with employment.
  • 1+ years working with students in a classroom environment preferred.

  • TB Test
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Act 114 FBI Clearance
  • Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Mandated Reporter Training
  • Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure
  • Act 24 Arrest and Conviction Disclosure

Daily Rate: $175/day.
