Opportunity: Assistant Director of Scholar Recruitment and Enrollment

The Assistant Director of Scholar Recruitment and Enrollment will report directly to the Director of Communications and Enrollment and is responsible for driving, developing, implementing and overseeing scholar recruitment and enrollment strategies and policies across Propel's network to meet annual enrollment targets. This individual sets and drives towards a strategic vision for enrollment and recruitment of scholars. This includes partnering with the communications team to develop and effective communications, events and outreach strategies, managing and ensuring complete compliance of enrollment processes including data integrity, oversight of the scholar information system as it relates to enrollment data and training. The Assistant Director will also meet regularly with principals to collaborate on enrollment initiatives at the school-level and work collaboratively to create and implement an annual strategic recruitment plan for each school/campus. The Assistant Director will serve as project manager for all scholar recruitment work. This position is also be responsible for designing appropriate workflows and ensuring they are adhered to from engagement/recruitment through to enrollment/re-enrollment.

This position is located at our Administrative Office in Southside and is a hybrid position with 2 days in the office per week.

Responsibilities

Scholar Enrollment and Recruitment Leadership

  • Lead and project manage the implementation of the annual scholar recruitment plan at the network and school level working across teams including school-based staff, data teams, communications teams to ensure enrollment targets are met network-wide and for each school/campus
  • Manage and coordinate a diverse team to meet annual enrollment targets including network and school based staff to direct all scholar recruitment and enrollment efforts
  • Drive and manage campus-based and network recruitment and scholar enrollment efforts and support campuses in attaining goals making real-time adjustments, as necessary
  • Align network and campus resources, as needed, to meet network scholar enrollment goals
  • Conduct research and analysis of enrollment trends to inform annual recruitment plan
  • Partner with the Communications team to set annual communications vision aligned to enrollment objectives. Collaborate with communications team to update enrollment webpages, enrollment advertisements, update enrollment forms, communications and templates

Network Enrollment Operations Management

  • Provide oversight of internal scholar information systems and compliance reporting functions in SchoolMint or any enrollment management system utilized
  • Analyze enrollment data and trends on an ongoing basis to align network and school efforts to meet enrollment targets
  • Oversee and direct all school/campus-based enrollment activity and support schools/campuses in attaining goals
  • Represent Propel at all events regarding enrollment
  • Build positive working relationships with Community Site Based Coordinators, school-based staff and others as needed to support, coordinate and communicate work and workflows related to enrollment
  • Support schools in implementing their plans aligned to meeting enrollment objectives

Manage Network Enrollment Policy Development, Implementation and Training

  • Establish, document and communicate common procedures, guidelines and timelines for enrollment
  • Lead processes to create process documentation and training materials on enrollment policies, procedures and processes
  • Lead and/or facilitate regular and on-going professional development opportunities for school-based and Propel Office staff to build both technical and adaptive skills related to enrollment management

Qualifications

This role requires a working knowledge of Enrollment processes and related compliance considerations. Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited four-year college or university, along with a minimum of three to five years of related experience
  • Prior experience managing people or enterprise processes in a similar role
  • High proficiency in modern technologies
  • Experience in a similar role in a traditional district or charter school is strongly preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity through the use of innovation, problem-solving and good judgment
  • Exceptional reliability, integrity, and ability to responsibly handle confidential information with discretion
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of Propel Schools
  • Ability to listen, influence, and execute through others while coordinating across a broad and diverse group of stakeholders

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Propel provides a competitive salary. Relevant prior work experience will be considered when determining placement within our salary range.
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plan options at a low cost for individual employees and families.
  • Retirement: New hires participate in a 403(b); Propel contributes 5% automatically and matches up to 4%. This increases after 5 years.
  • Paid Leave: In addition to 16-19 paid holidays annually, the Assistant Director will receive 5 sick days and 10 Personal Days. The Assistant Director will also accrue vacation time per pay period.
  • Tuition Assistance: Reimbursement of up to $3,000 annually upon completion of course and receipt of grades for coursework that meets our eligibility requirements.
  • Wellness Benefit: Reimbursement of $20 per month for wellness activities including Gym Memberships, health programs, etc. Additionally, staff have the ability to earn up to $300 for participation in a Wellness Program each year.
  • Professional Development: At Propel, we believe in supporting staff growth and provide substantial school-based and network-wide professional development support for all staff. The Assistant Director will participate in Professional Development throughout the school year.
