To help decision makers tackle this complexity and make better decisions, Predata is distilling the world’s web traffic into concise indicators of trends, viewpoints, and business processes.
As a Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer on the team, you’ll help build the algorithmic foundations of Predata’s global intelligence platform, and have the chance to interact with other teams and cross-functional stakeholders across a wide range of industries.
What you’ll do
- Improve datasets currently utilized by Fortune 500 companies, top-tier hedge funds, and government agencies
- Build cutting-edge models of online activity, fusing data from millions of “sensors” — web pages across the internet — into a complete picture of global attention
- Model the online attention environment before and after major events
- Model how attention to news affects the flow of web traffic
- Model the seasonal drivers of human activity
- Help shape the company’s long-term ML strategy

This position will report to the Director of Machine Learning
What you bring
- 3+ years of ML research + engineering experience in a leading academic or industry context
- An extensive track record of shipping cutting-edge and impactful ML products
- Excellent grasp of the mathematical foundations of machine learning theory and recent advances in the field
- Practical experience with modern ML frameworks: able to rapidly prototype ideas from the latest research
- Comfortable doing anything and everything in modern Python and processing data in Unix-like systems
- A focus on clear and effective communication
