As a University Banking Sales Specialist 1, you will be within the Retail Out-of-Branch Sales and Service organization. This is a remote position. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location, approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographic locations. Preferred locations include Baltimore, MD, Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA

This position requires extensive travel (about 60%). University Banking Sales Specialists will manage a portfolio of universities/campuses located in the Southwest and Midwest Territories within PNC's Retail footprint. Time in the field will be critical to the success of building relationships not only with your external clients, but also with your Retail teams and Corporate partners.

PNC's University Banking team of Relationship Managers are dedicated to working directly with clients of Higher Education to provide financial wellness resources to the campus community focusing on the students in an effort to grow households for the Retail bank.

In this position, you will work on the following activities:

- Focus on institutions of Higher Education with approximately 12,000 or less total student enrollment.
- Cultivate relationships with university leadership and secure approved events for offering PNC products and services and financial education opportunities.
- Identify the appropriate levels of marketing which are ultimately mutually agreed upon by PNC and the University.

Through these efforts, your coordination of campus events could consist of strategically negotiating PNC's presence on campus through general tabling opportunities at prime student events such as new student orientation, short-term sponsorships, or long-term contractual commitments.

You will be responsible for traveling throughout the territories to visit with school clients and prospects, perform event observations, and meet with your Retail support teams to become the Center of Influence (COI) in support of student banking. Your dedication to growing your portfolio through new and innovative approaches, while embracing an ever-changing landscape in the consumer student space, will support the growth of the line of business.

- Ability to read and interpret data to measure performance.
- Project Management oversight; and familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

Job Description
  • Leads business development activities with new and existing clients to grow sales, revenue and market share. Interfaces with senior leadership levels within current and prospective client organizations to position the value of PNC and secure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Acquires, develops and maintains a pipeline of existing and prospective corporate, institutional or business clients through targeted business development activities. Develops and executes relationship management strategies for portfolio of existing client relationships.
  • Develops and executes client contact strategy in collaboration with appropriate line of business partners. Documents all customer opportunities and activity.
  • Plans, organizes and schedules revenue-driving activities at external client locations. Anticipates, identifies and secures appropriate resources needed to execute sales activities.
  • Builds and maintains effective internal partner relationships to actively identify referral opportunities and facilitate the acquisition and expansion of client relationships. Secures access to targeted businesses to ensure desired business results.
