As an SRE Group Manager within PNC's Site Reliability team, you'll be located at one of our Technology Hubs in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX. Weekly time in the office is needed.

Ability to conduct thorough RCAs for incidents and outages.
Proficiency in analyzing metrics and logs to derive insights and actions.

Leading technical initiatives and setting the vision for the SRE function across the organization.
Experience in strategic planning for system growth and evolution.
Acting as a subject matter expert and thought leader within the organization.
Executing application design activities, tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Building applications by writing code and implementing software solutions with a focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability to ensure the smooth operation of critical systems and services.
Conducting maintenance activities such as bug fixing, updates, and patches, as well as executing testing strategies to ensure software quality throughout all stages of application development and production support.
Implementing monitoring solutions to track application performance and health, and responding to incidents promptly to minimize downtime and mitigate impact on users.
Incorporating security measures into the application design and development process to protect against threats such as unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber-attacks.
Designing and managing the underlying infrastructure to support application deployment and operation, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
Conducting thorough testing and validation processes to ensure the reliability, scalability, and resilience of the infrastructure, including performance testing, stress testing, and disaster recovery drills.
Job Description
- Manages teams of Site Reliability Engineers across multiple operating sites and applications to improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of highly complex software solutions.
- Recommends and facilitates the implementation of infrastructure enhancements as required to maintain the performance of sites in response to business growth and strategy.
- Leads cross-functionally with other teams to review underlying issues, architect solutions, establish conventions and evangelize application development and operations best practices.
- Oversees robust technical solutions for complex business and application challenges, while helping to define and communicate technical standards and best practices.
- Provides guidance and supports the growth of Site Reliability Engineers. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to both junior and senior engineers, supporting their growth and professional development.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
