As a Senior Fixed Income Credit Analyst within PNC's Asset Management organization, you will be based in Philadelphia, PA.

This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilitiesrequiretime in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager's discretion.

As a Senior Fixed Income Credit Analyst, you are expected to be fully proficient in analyzing a broad array of corporate obligors to provide investment opinions with a primary focus on adding excess return within managed portfolios through credit selection. Additionally, there is potential to assume coverage of some municipal obligors as part of a multi-sector portfolio composition. The Senior Analyst role will report to the Director of Research and will have a direct impact on the management and performance of the PNC Asset Management Fixed Income portfolios. The investment process is total-return oriented with credit as a primary driver of excess return generation.

Responsibilities:

• Specialize in a fixed set of corporate credit sectors to complement the existing credit staff coverage, with an investment grade focus
• Provide forward-looking credit opinions on credits and sectors for which the Senior Analyst is responsible and present investment ideas to the team in both formal and informal environments
• Review and document new issuance for portfolio inclusion
• Communicate to a broad range of constituents spanning from other investment professionals to direct clients and prospects

Preferred experience/skills:

• Experience in the research and analysis of corporate fixed income securities; including municipals
• Disciplined, team-based process and a commitment to work collaboratively
• Familiarity with general bond pricing concepts and application, in addition to the credit skill set
• Proven history of independent thinking and creativity
• Ability to synthesize information from non-traditional sources
• Knowledge of the Bloomberg terminal and Excel API
• Knowledge of Perform portfolio management system
• CFA

Job Description

  • Analyzes financial viability and security attractiveness. Makes recommendations for specific security positions to portfolio managers. Serves as a subject matter expert in specific industries and/or sectors.
  • Analyzes financial statements of individual securities and makes effective recommendations based on results. Designs and runs securities analysis models and generates reports to support the portfolio management effort and independently draws conclusions. Makes recommendations on valuations of specific securities within the sector or industry.
  • Reviews industries and sectors with portfolio managers on relative valuation. Directs special projects as needed.
  • Communicates research and performance of industries, sectors and securities to internal business partners and external clients.
  • Mentors other team members.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
