As a Senior Architect and Technology Strategist within PNC's Retail Architecture Strategy organization, you may be based in a remote location. This is a remote position. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location, approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.

PNC is seeking a strategy-minded architect to join the Retail Architecture Strategy team.

Acting as an internal consulting team / think-tank, the Retail Architecture Strategy team are trusted executive advisors helping merge IT initiatives, technical trends, compliance, and business direction into a shared vision. In this position, you will leverage your skills in research, knowledge of business architecture, experience in solution architecture, and executive communication skills to provide objective viewpoints and guidance.

In this position, you will be tasked with assisting in defining IT Strategy that provides stable guidance with a 3-5 year runway for decision making; participate and create perspectives across numerous advisory initiatives; identifying pain points in current state architecture; highlighting opportunities in the target state; and more.

The ideal candidate is inquisitive, objective and open minded. They are collaborative and comfortable with intellectual discourse, reliably delivers on time, and has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Responsibilities
Researching technology, trends, patterns, and current platforms
Define business-aligned IT architecture strategy (north-stars)
Creation of artifacts including overall strategy, component architecture diagrams, capability mappings, etc
Direct interaction with Business Executives and IT Leadership to build alignment

Required Experience
Past experience as an solution, enterprise or business architect
Working understanding of modern architecture designs, technology, and patterns (MACH)
Comfortable with Business Capability Models and Business Object Models

Other
Expect to work frequently with C-Level and Senior Directors
Past experience in banking/fin-tech is not required but highly desirable

Job Description
  • Provides guidance and advice on business architecture designs in complex projects, resolves difficult problems and ensures that all deliverables meet high standards in quality.
  • Designs business architecture procedures, such as the target operating model and roadmap, while considering business strategies and goals.
  • Consults on best practices for junior staff in business architecture planning, processes, data modeling and business architecture tools (e.g. UML and BPMN.)
  • Provides a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered.
  • Oversees the quality of business architecture project deliverables while ensuring that they are in compliance with relevant standards and processes.

    Work Experience
    Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

    Pay Transparency

    Base Salary: $80,000.00 - $217,100.00

    Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
