This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager's discretion.

The LOB Risk Manager II will oversee the Risk and Control team within Asset Management Group Operations. The team is comprised of six team members and a manager. This position requires an individual with extensive experience in risk and control self-assessments (RCSA), including inherent risk identification, control effectiveness evaluation and continuous improvement. Also needs technical expertise, collaboration, and communication with an attitude of adaptability and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:
Risk Identification and Assessment:
• Identify financial, operational, and reputational risks to the organization
• Analyze and evaluate the likelihood and potential impact of those risks
• Develop and implement risk management strategies and plans
Risk Mitigation and Control:
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate identified risks
• Establish and maintain effective risk management policies and procedures
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management programs, including quality assurance testing, procedures and controls
• Participate in projects and initiatives to determine impacts to the risk framework and create mitigation strategies
Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
• Prepare and present risk reports to management and stakeholders
• Communicate risk information and recommendations to relevant parties
Other Duties:
• Conduct investigations into matters, issues, incidents and near misses and implementing action plans
• Develop and deliver risk management training programs

This position will interact regularly with other departments within PNC, including Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Technology, the Private Bank, and Institutional lines of Business, among others. They will also interact with external vendors, regulatory agencies, and external auditors.

Job Description
  • Responsible for the establishment and oversight of risk strategies and program execution. May manage manager(s) and serves as a senior risk advocate for the risk management program.
  • Establishes the line of business risk management strategies and programs, maintains and enhances existing programs to support the business(es) in managing risk while meeting business and regulatory expectations.
  • Oversees the timely and proper execution of the risk management program within and/or across the lines of business.
  • Provides risk expertise while working with the businesses and other risk partners (e.g., Compliance, Credit, Legal, Audit). Monitors changes in internal and external factors and identifies emerging risks.
  • Manages and engages employees and develops internal capabilities. May manage individual contributors and/or managers.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
