As an Experience Design Group Manager within PNC's Retail Lending organization, you will be based in a location within PNC's footprint.

As the Head of User Experience, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the UX strategy for our consumer products. You will lead a talented team of UX designers, researchers, and strategists to create intuitive, engaging, and seamless user experiences that align with our business goals and customer needs. Your leadership will play a critical role in ensuring our products remain competitive and user-friendly in a rapidly changing financial landscape.

Preferred Qualifications:
• UX design and leadership experience within the financial services industry or similar field.
• Education and experience as a Designer (Experience Design UX-User Experience Design/UI-User Interface Design) with extensive user centered design knowledge.
• Proven experience leading and managing UX teams, with a track record of driving design innovation and improving user experiences.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, UX research methodologies, and design thinking processes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts to non-design stakeholders.
• Proficiency in UX design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
• A visionary and customer-centric mindset with a passion for creating impactful user experiences.

Job Description
  • Lead Experience Design team in creating digital experiences across a range of user touchpoints. Manage partnerships across the enterprise with product management, design, and technology, in developing strategies in delivering engaging, usable, consistent, and accessible experiences aligned with business objectives, cohesive with all of PNC's digital properties.
  • Develop and manage operations processes for team. Guide the digital team in establishing design practices, including cultivating a culture of critique and informing the design process through regular research.
  • Oversee partnership with product & technology peers, as well as design leaders on the individual customer experience. Supervise design function in agile development crews and practice human-centered design across the domains of visual and communication design, interaction and user experience design, prototyping, and design research.
  • Set vision for the customer experience for a particular feature area, product, etc. Determine product strategy to ensure it is meeting customer needs.
  • Review digital experience trends and results to stay current on new digital experiences or enhancements to existing experiences by leveraging industry and market place research and insights.
  • Mentor designers. Drive design leaders to improve the community of practice for all design teams.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
