The Data Technology team within PitchBook’s Product organization develops solutions to support and accelerate our data operations processes. This domain impacts core workflows of data capture, ingestion, and hygiene across many datasets. This role works collaboratively with our Data Operations, Engineering, and customer-facing Product teams to strategically align the roadmap with business needs and ruthlessly prioritize development efforts to drive roadmap delivery and operational efficiency. 

PitchBook is looking for a Product Manager Intern to assist Product Management team members in evaluating opportunities and executing on the Data Technology team’s Product Roadmap. This internship will give you hands-on experience in connecting with users, understanding the Data Pipeline, collaborating with engineers, gathering product data, creating analyses, and building recommendations for action. You will get to develop hands-on experience with the product development life cycle and the Product Management decision-making process. Our Summer Internship is a full-time program (40 hours per week) running from June – August 2025 (specific date vary by office location). Please note, at this time PitchBook does not provide relocation assistance for our internships.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop knowledge in your subject matter area on the Data Technology team
  • Deeply understand stakeholder needs across different departments (Operations, Engineering, Product)  
  • Use internal data systems to perform research and create your analyses
  • Identify valuable opportunities to improve the data collection process
  • Create robust product requirements for improvements to be implemented by engineering
  • Communicate requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Effectively present your findings to your team and Product Management leadership
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a junior in a higher education program (college or university): Business, Economics, Finance, Informatics, and related majors preferred.  
  • To be considered for the intern position, applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. PitchBook will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B status). The company may in its sole discretion extend your contract for a further fixed term period(s) to be agreed by you and the Company

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in Data Systems, Data Pipelines, Process Automation, Data Collection, Data Modeling 
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning methodologies to collect and extract data from public sources 
  • Interest in Extract, Transform, and Load processes and distributed systems/architecture 
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Power BI, SQL, and Agile processes is a plus 
  • Experience working with operational processes and teams 
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation

  • Annual hourly rate: $22/hour

 

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
