About the Role:

As a member of the Editorial team, you will spend each day immersed in the private markets, aiming to help our customers be better investors, advisors and market participants. The work you will do plays a direct role in the evolution of the industry!

PitchBook’s Industry & Technology Research Internship provides the opportunity to develop your skills and build a strong foundation in private markets research, with an emphasis on emerging technologies in healthcare and other sectors. This role helps with creating best-in-class research utilized by PitchBook’s global clientele of private capital investors, investment banks, corporations, and other service providers. The Industry & Technology Research Intern works with our multi-site institutional research group to help create research products that build PitchBook’s thought leadership brand and drive tangible value for our clients. 

This role requires a growth mindset, willingness to solicit feedback, engage others with empathy, and help create a culture of belonging, teamwork, and purpose.  If you love developing and articulating differentiated insights, strive for excellence every day, are adaptable and focused, and believe work should be fun, come join us! Our Summer Internship is full-time program (40 hours per week) running from June 16th – August 22nd 2025 (specific dates vary by office location).  Please note, at this time PitchBook does not provide relocation assistance for our internships.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Research, develop, and populate taxonomies of venture capital and private equity backed companies relevant to key themes (e.g. diabetes, clinical trials tech) 
  • Conduct research using PitchBook data, academic literature, news articles, and other publications to identify key drivers for investment and emerging technology adoption 
  • Set and achieve a professional development goal during the course of your internship 
  • Participate in department-wide analyst meetings by asking questions and preparing a final presentation on work completed during the internship 
  • Shadow senior team members in client-facing interactions 
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled as a junior in a higher education program (college or university): Finance or healthcare related majors preferred 
  • To be considered for the intern position, applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. PitchBook will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B status). The company may in its sole discretion extend your contract for a further fixed term period(s) to be agreed by you and the Company 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of financial concepts such as valuation techniques and market sizing  
  • Interest in healthcare and life sciences technologies and business models  
  • Interest in private financial markets (venture capital and private equity)  
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal  
  • Ability to draw analytical conclusions from quantitative and qualitative data  
  • Attention to detail and ability to request guidance when needed  
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation

  • Annual hourly rate: $22/hour

 

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3 days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
