Position Summary: The Market Orthopedic Service Line Coordinator models the values, acts in accordance with policies and procedures, and holds others accountable for meeting standards, which are informed by industry best practices and/or regulatory in nature. The Coordinator has responsibility and accountability for establishing and maintaining excellence across all orthopedic service delivery areas, organizational and leadership development, maintaining necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations, effectiveness and efficiency of operations within the defined areas of responsibility. The Coordinator works closely with the Orthopedic department providers, nursing leaders, clinical services, and the Business Development team to execute strategic goals, promote program growth, and deliver cost-effective services. The Coordinator maintains awareness of reimbursement strategies, and progressive care delivery frameworks that could contribute to clinical integration and development of Orthopedic services across the organization. The Coordinator not only represents areas under his/her direct responsibility, but also provides leadership around organization-wide initiatives to improve patient care, clinical effectiveness, reduce cost, optimize patient throughput, and patient & employee satisfaction.

Collaborate with the administrative and clinical leaders who lead the day-to-day operations of units/clinics associated with the Orthopedic Service Line including the rehabilitation services, Business Development, Operations, and leadership to develop, implement and refine a comprehensive Orthopedic Service Line strategy
Evaluate and make recommendations for new and/or innovative programmatic and/or expansion opportunities including new care models that help drive efficiencies and improvements for patients and providers. Ensure that operations, quality initiatives and service delivery are efficiently delivered on maintaining flow, ensuring patient satisfaction, delivering high quality outcomes across the continuum of care.
Ensure that there is adherence to all regulatory and patient/staff/ safety requirements. Partner with the leadership of the various hospital-based departments to ensure smooth patient flow by implementing best practice Orthopedic processes and operational improvements
Work with a multidisciplinary team across and external groups to collaboratively evaluate and participate in cost containment opportunities
Facilitates and assists patients through the healthcare continuum by being a resource for all aspects of the patient experience for orthopedic surgery. This role includes providing education and support to patients, family, staff and caregivers. The goals of this position include improving patient care and flow, eliminating barriers and improving the overall patient experience by connecting the patient and family with appropriate resources and services. Establishes navigator relationship with patients throughout the continuum of care.
Provides a significant level of patient education related to their elective procedure and planned treatment; develops patient care pathways and educational information.

REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications: Current SC State license, registration, and/or certification as applicable.
Three years of clinical patient care experience. Care coordination experience and experience in joint replacement area of specialization preferred. Must be proficient in computers and comfortable with new technology. Must have superior interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task in this fast-paced customer service environment.
Education/Other Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Athletic Trainer Certified Program or related clinical field, or Master’s degree in Social Work or related clinical field, or the equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Ability to work collaboratively and influence others in a matrix reporting relationship with nursing, physical therapy, quality and other applicable departments.
