Job Description
The Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in leading cross functional teams in the development of new electro-mechanical products and integration of innovative technologies for the Philips Sleep & Respiratory Care group. We are looking for an entrepreneurial minded person with a versatile product development and project management background who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Your role:
- Project Management for Product development using both external and internal teams.
- Coordinating, budgeting, and scheduling project activities using appropriate project management techniques, technical judgment, and interpersonal skills.
- Understand and apply lean principles as appropriate.
- Lead multiple projects; develop and implement project plans, including milestones, detailed schedules, budgets, resource plans, cost targets, reliability metrics, and product quality.
- Define, track and communicate key project metrics and milestones, includes facilitation of project and design reviews and participation in executive reviews.
- Interact directly with end users (clinicians, homecare health providers, etc.), Software Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, cross-functional team members, and Marketing Managers.
- Proactively identifies and mitigates project risks, responsible for elevating critical business decisions to appropriate management.
- Establishes and directs activities of contract engineering and design partners.
- Fosters alignment, accountability, and collaborative way of working across entire extended project team.
- Escalates effectively to program, functional and contracted partner management to achieve project goals.
- Collaborates closely with Quality, Global Sourcing, Operations, Regulatory, Marketing and Finance groups to prioritize and establish development and sustaining engineering processes and infrastructure required of a medical device.
- Create and maintain an innovative working environment that encourages teamwork, learning agility, and individual contributions.
- Empower and provide effective work direction for team members and instill teams with market foresight, learning agility, and teaming.
- Assure teams follow good engineering practices and Philips' Quality System Processes (QSPs).
- Collaborates with Project Managers in other areas of the business group and across Philips to create a community of practice, leverage standardization and drive positive development within the function.
- Able to mentor other project managers on the team.

- You've acquired 7+ years of experience as a technical project manager leading projects with substantial medical product development activities, preferred.
- You are experienced with FDA, MDR, & ISO Quality System Requirements (including safety and regulatory testing) and their application within a medical product development environment, desired.
- You have demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional, technical and design teams, including contract resources and facilitating strong collaboration across multiple geographic locations
- You have the ability to effectively lead and manage within a matrix organization; experience interacting with industrial design resources, human factors exposure, a plus.
- You have a Minimum of a BS degree in an engineering or related technical discipline, required; Master's degree, preferred. PMP certification, a plus.
- You have strong written and oral communication skills, strong competency in customer focus, driving for results, integrity, trust, ethics, values, and compassion, and are proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Project Management Software, and demonstrated ability to learn other business software (such as Windchill for document management and enterprise resource planning purposes).

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Pittsburgh, PA .
