ROLE SUMMARY:

The US Hematology Thought Leader Engagement Lead, Midwest (TLEL), will play a critical role on the growing US Hematology team by developing and executing an overarching Thought Leader engagement plan for key national and regional thought leaders in the field of Hematology. Pfizer's Hematology portfolio spans multiple products in lymphoma, multiple myeloma and leukemia. This leader will create a first-class experience for external stakeholders in Hematology, coordinating relationships end-to-end (research to end-of-lifecycle) and working as part of a broader cross-functional Pfizer team. Focusing on National, Emerging, and certain Community Thought Leaders, this person will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships across a wide variety of key Hematology thought leaders.

The TLEL will be engaging Hematology Thought Leaders via 1:1 engagements at major congresses and national / regional product theaters to identify mutual points of interest between the TL and Pfizer Oncology Commercial, gathering insights on Hematology Thought Leader beliefs and preferences to inform development and execution of HCP commercial strategies / tactics, nominating TLs for Ad Boards, Speaker Programs, or other programming as requested by marketing teams, collaborating effectively with the HEME Global Thought Leader Strategy Lead, and advancing the capabilities of the Hematology franchise in the US.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute a robust multi-stakeholder engagement strategy for Hematology Thought Leaders focused on Multiple Myeloma, Lymphoma and Leukemia for National, Regional, Emerging, and Community Thought Leaders
  • Execute strategic plan to maximize the life cycle of the Hematology portfolio
  • Obtain therapeutic insights from US-based Hematology thought leaders and key stakeholders to help advance the Hematology portfolio
  • Serve as a point of coordination in Hematology across multiple functions and geographies to ensure we can become a preferred partner globally
  • Establish and maintain organizational processes and guidelines (in partnership with legal/compliance) to ensure a consistent and compliant approach to TL engagement
  • With the Global Thought Leader Strategy Lead for Heme, co-Design a process for capturing and disseminating insights on key US Hematology thought leader's beliefs and preferences, aligned with the overall Global Thought Leader strategy
  • Lead and direct insight gathering from 1:1 engagements, small group meetings, and advisory boards for actionable commercial implementation with US Thought Leaders
  • Establish connectivity across Pfizer functions to facilitate connecting TL's and key stakeholders to the appropriate internal subject matter experts as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS / BA Degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in marketing, medical affairs, strategy, customer engagement or business development in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
  • Experience in Hematology cancers is required
  • Strong executional focus and desire to spend the majority of the time in the field engaging thought leaders is required
  • Ability and eagerness to challenge status quo, think creatively, act decisively and operate successfully in an empowered organization
  • Demonstrated success in internal/external influence/negotiation, building alignment and driving performance
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable productive and collaborative relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, including influential HCP thought leaders
  • Strong strategic, organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to uncover deep customer insights, and to distill complex business situations into clear and actionable insights
  • Demonstrated creativity in development and partnership collaborations on innovative programs
  • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to influence peers and colleagues

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior KOL engagement and / or scientific exchange in Hematological cancers
  • Advanced degree

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

50% overnight and international travel with weekends.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $269,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
